I would be a bad part-time Michigander if I didn't have Vernor's in my fridge! I'll go get one!

I thought Bonnie was referring to something a bit more sinister legal in MI but not all states!

So, so good to hear your voice! I should be taking down the Christmas decorations too but I am just reading (though I did launder the guests sheets and towels and put the rooms back together).

After all the reports of illness, I doused myself with hand sanitizer at the gym yesterday. I have all shots on board: flu, shingles, one Covid shot this summer before I went to Scotland, and one last month for the updated Covid shot. I've had Covid 3 times, and each time it was milder, but the first time I was sick for a solid week. I skipped Christmas that year, and I had to instruct DH how to make the pasta shells from my reclining position on the couch. I don't know if my other bouts became milder because of immunizations, or my own immune system was more effective after repeated exposures, or if Covid became more mild. Since I have zero reaction to the shots, I get them. (I used the cancer diagnosis to qualify for the updated one this winter because I'm 64, so don't qualify) I did read that the new Covid virus that started circulating this fall brings these awful sore throats. Hope everyone recovers soon, and no one else falls ill.

Our early New Year's celebration was just the thing. The food was fabulous, the service impeccable, and the ambiance tasteful. We were home before dark.

I slept in a little bit this morning, because now I'm afraid of getting sick, so my thought is if I'm still tired, I'll sleep. I didn't know if I would have time for the gym, so I tried something old/new. I sometimes do an 8 minute Tai Chi routine I found on youtube for balance and stretching. The same guy has a 20 minute one, so I tried that one today. It's all seemingly easy, gentle movements, but I still worked up a little sweat. I will try to add this to my exercising because I think it's good for me to do some balance things. I don't have to balance using the resistance machines when I'm doing the weights. I know I could add free weights to my workout, but I also know this: I am not going into the free weight area. It's better at Planet Fitness because they have a Lunk Alarm, meaning if someone drops weight or makes those ungodly noises an alarm sounds. So better than other clubs, but I'm still not going in there.

We're leaving on a 2 hour drive around 1pm, so I'd better get going here. It's cold, (9 degrees), but I think it is done snowing.

With your trip coming up there is no time to be sic****ep washing those hands and try to stay away from anyone sick. I don't think it can be passed through OH posts LOL.

Your evening at the Capital Grill sounded like the perfect choice. Maybe some year DH and I can celebrate separate from his friends. I like them a lot but I kind of miss NYE celebrations.

Greetings all

Happy New Year for real! We were asleep well before mighnight and did not even watch the NY ball fall. So jaded are we. Managed a good nights sleep - I think the fireworks were minimized by the rain. It continues today and probably for several more.

Sorry some of you still have illness. Spoil yourselves. Vernon's!! Never heard of it but now I am curious. Hope it helps CC. Nothing worse than one of those four alarm sore throats. Chloroseptic used to help but it tastes awful and would require procurement. Rest up.

You too Bonnie and Paula and anyone else who is ailing. Standing in a hot shower is a bit of comfort.

Studio buddy arrives soon for football. A good thing to do today plus allegedly she is bringing a pizza.

DD I am going to check out the 8 minute tai chi. Sounds like a fine idea. And how cool that they have lunk alarm at your gym. I so hate it when they drop big weights as this old lady is easily startled. Plus you have a grunt free zone. I plan to hit the gym tomorrow but expect it to be full. I am spoiled because it is ususally sparsely populated. And stay well for Brazil. Zinc and C.

I am not much for new years resolutions but I am going to get that induction stove. Hence easier cooking hence healthier food. Even though the old one still works it is slow and I think the oven is off temperature and it is 30 years old so time to go bye bye. Meanwhile, more pot roast is in order.

I am wondering if my cleaning person is ever coming back. I think I mentioned she had a leg fracture and has to stay off it but it has been 5-6 weeks. Would not blame her if she changed vocations but would like to know. I have continued to pay her all this time.

Anyway time for football. DH is enjoying the momentary quiet before studio buddy arrives.

Yay on the induction stove, I think you will love it!

So nice of you to continue to pay your house cleaner while she is healing!

Have fun watching the game with coworker and eating pizza. Who is your team again?
