123.4 - up some more which is freaking me out. I didn't think I ate all that much yesterday.

We drove DS to his airport hotel in Orlando yesterday and he is on the plane right now ready to fly back to freezing Portland ME. His first task is to retrieve his car from where it was towed. He paid some guy at his apt complex to clean his car and move it if it snowed. The guy called and said that though he had cleaned the car he hadn't moved it yet when the plows came (he said they came early), so the car was towed away.

Still cold this morning - DH is playing golf at 9 and it will still be in the 40s at that point. He doesn't have those stretchy golf pants but may have to wear a regular pair. He has kept insisting that pants aren't needed for golf in Florida, but this year they are! Though it will warm up a little bit each day through Saturday it is still going to be quite nippy, then it falls even lower potentially to the 20s on Sunday early morning. Seems like a lot more cold here than normal years.

I am staying in today other than a brisk Justice walk. No water aerobics for me! Tonight I have a dinner/fashion show for the Ladies Tennis Tournament being played here this week. DH and I are volunteering at it tomorrow afternoon and Saturday afternoon. Hoping for sun and no wind... If any of you follow tennis, here is the website for it. It has been a big deal to sponsor it here: https://vbito.com/

Have a windy Wednesday!

PS - just realized I had today as Monday vs Wednesday in the subject - definitely out of synch!

196.6 yay! The trainer visit was great yesterday. She was very complimentary of what a good boy Kirby is. Really it comes down to consistency on my part. Using his ecollar for gentle reminders of what I don't want him doing and lots of praise when he complies. We walked over to my neighbor's and he was excellent on the leash. Then he played with Lucy. She said the problem is Lucy doesn't correct him herself, she just tries to get away. The trainer gave him small corrections along with "off" when he tried to hump her and Kirby immediately stopped. She also said an hour was bordering on too long for a playdate. Try for shorter, have them be supervised with corrections as needed until he learns, and end them on a high note.

Today my neighbor Rob is going to bring over his male dog, Snoop, for a play date to practice. Kirby has only played with girl dogs (unless he had a chance at the boarder), so should be interesting.

The low point yesterday was I slipped in some dog water bowl slobber and crashed to the marble floor. Tears were shed! I think I must have needed a good cry, because tears continued to be shed after I realized I was okay. Or I was just feeling very sorry for myself! I am sore and skinned, but thankfully have strong bones.

I also have a board meeting today for the HOA. It was a nice break as we haven't met since November.

I did call a new HVAC company yesterday since the old one ghosted me. They sound like they may be willing and able to help. How novel! They come on Monday. Yay!

A few more phone calls on my list, but I'm whittling away...

Take care all!

OMG - Marble is hard! You must have good bones. I am so afraid these days of falling like that and breaking a hip.

I worry more about breaking an arm these days trying to catch myself, but hips are catastrophic!

200.5 (2nd day in a row) I'm fine with this. A back and forth betwee*****nd 200 is comfortable - especially since my sweet tooth has been in high gear for several days now.

So, trainer decided she was not feeling comfortable training me after all. So, that was a bust. I will start doing some light cardio and lower body training on my own this week.

I'm wondering if I have a little bit of the winter blahs going on. While I don't feel depressed in any sense, I am certainly not feeling motivated to do much of anything. Yesterday all I got accomplished really was a visit to my dad and getting to the post office to clean out his PO Box and then I did a client dog (took about an hour) in the afternoon. Of course, I did the usual dog chores and cooking for us. I also got a few things done for the dog clubs, but computer work doesn't really impress me as "getting stuff done around the house" type of stuff. Maybe I'm just not used to this quiet, retired life.

Visiting dad was a bit disappointing. He was down for a nap when I got there, which is not unusual. But usually he stirs. Yesterday he was down for the count, so I left him a note. I am hoping that his body is starting to wind itself down and he's letting go. That would be nice for him. It's apparent to me that his happy and joyful feelings are fewer and fewer, whereas his worry and confusion is greater and greater.

At least here we are not experiencing the cold snap like the rest of the country. Hope you tropical Floridians are staying indoors and warm!

CC, glad it went so well with Kirby and that you have strong bones! Sorry you took such a severe spill!

Liz, another two weeks away!!!! You and DH are certainly the travelers of our group! Does Justice get to go to the Keys?

Yes, Justice will be in the Keys for his third time (we were all there for the month of March in 2022 and 2023). This time we are sharing a house with friends for 2 weeks (they have another friend splitting the second 2 weeks of February).
