119.4

Still cold here (35), but nothing like in the Northeast. Essentially all of Cape Cod is out of power and it may be days until it is restored. Travel is banned there and in 4 other coastal counties. It may be worse than the Blizzard of 78 which I experienced when there was a travel ban and no power for 5 days. My SIL and other friends are hunkered down there, mostly keeping warm by gas fireplaces. No cooking so lots of peanut butter sandwiches. I wish SIL had gone to her son's home the day before the storm but she is too independent and stubborn sometimes.

Speaking of time since VSG yesterday, I received a survey from my bariatric surgeon's office asking questions about how happy I am with my health, etc. Well constructed survey asking meaningful questions and not overly long. I was happy to respond to it.

DD should be arriving around 7:30 tonight. It looks like Westchester Airport is open again. Though they did get a lot of snow in her area it wasn't nearly as bad as some other coastal areas in the Northeast. And she never lost power. All other Northeast family seems to be doing well and with power (other than SIL).

Time to get my down jacket, earmuffs and gloves on for our morning walk. I have someone coming to measure for new blinds in my master bedroom this morning.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

201.3 - I find these up, downs so annoying. Up almost 2 pounds from yesterday. I don't care that it's water... It is still annoying.

Terse mood was interrupted by a good workout yesterday early evening, but was fully back in place by 7 or 8 pm.

Gloomy-ish day here, but thankfully warm, mild gloom. We're almost 30 degrees warmer here than in Florida! It's 62 here. We are supposed to get a few spatters of rain today, but not much. Most of the rain will be to the north of us until tonight. Once the rain passes through, no rain in the forecast for the next 10 days. We really seem to be having an early spring.

Dad visit yesterday. He's doing okay, but the cognitive decline is seems pretty steady now. He's a little less of himself each week. But it's clear he still finds joy in living. Yesterday he had a girlfriend. She came in and sat while Dad and I visited. They held hands sitting on his couch for a few seconds before she darted off as quickly as she came in. Dad said she comes and goes all day long like that. It's charming. He's having a lot of arthritis pain in his hands. He has loss of kidney function so his docs don't want him taking ibuprofen and prescribe Tylenol, which is really not effective at managing the swelling and pain. Yesterday I message his NP and asked for a script for ibuprofen, mentioning that my brother and I are more concerned about his daily comfort than his "life expectancy". Fingers crossed she grants our request. If not, I'll be slipping him ibuprofen each time I visit.

Not too much on the schedule today. Trimming dogs, a workout, cleaning and some laundry. Retirement is nice.

Cute story about your Dad snd his girlfriend! I wonder if she has several boyfriends? Sorry his cognitive decline is steadily increasing. Always hard to watch!

Enjoy your early Spring!

Good for you for still going on the walk even if you have to wear full winter gear! You have more gumption than I!

Crazy about the snow, cold and power outages out East!

118.6. Like Liz, our weather is cold. Not quite as bad as hers but still in the high 30's this morning. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm enough for water aerobics, we shall see. My warm enough is higher than others!

Finished setting up my vendor booth today. I see that most of you have already seen the post on FB so I won't put on TT as well. Fingers crossed that my art sells!

We had lunch out today at our favorite lobster roll place! Soooo good!

I think dinner will be snacking. I'm going to thaw out some of that Asian soup I made during the last cold snap for dinner tomorrow.

So DD got an unexpected extra day of vacation! Hopefully all goes well for the rest of the trip. Never feels right when you have to change travel plans due to issues with the plane.

Greetings all

Steady rain today but not a horrible storm. I went to Scrabble and lost two, won one. Lost one by 1 point!! Close on the Shark but no dice. I had planned to stop at the studio but the rain was heavier and I was hungry and didn't feel like it. So I came on home for a roast beef sandwich. I will likely not get much else done today so I need to finish those gallery tax returns. Got a message from the gallery landlord that they want to meet and talk about the lease. Not sure what that is about as we have 4 years on it but who knows. They have a new director so I will have to reeducate them.

Liz glad to hear your DD got out! I was concerned that everything would shut down given how awful the reports are. Hope your SIL will be ok. Not smart of her not to get out. And yeah it is probably warmer here than there even though we have rain. Probably in the 50's here.

Peps agreed that you should slip your dad the ibuprofen if needed. I kind of regret not doing similar things for my mom when crazy pat was on the rampage and would not let me give an anti anxiety med or sleeping pill to my mom. Nice that your dad had a little date. Bet he is pretty darn cute.

Paula your vendor space looks great. Looks like it is a little larger than each of our artists get. Do you have to barcode everything? Hope it works out. Ditto etsy.

My new ottoman should arrive any day. The furniture store suggested that I could easily pick it up but no thanks. Once I got home how could I unload it? Not me.

Tesla has a vet apt tomorrow. She is approaching age 9. She had a dental last year so it will be interesting to see if they want to do another one. I need to brush her so she does not look like a pound puppy. Studio buddy wants to come over for some computer updating and needs DH to help. What needs to be done should not take long but she talks so much it is hard to get anything done. The vet apt is the escape module.

DD what hemisphere are you in? Hope the extra time does not result to too much travel discomfort. Welcome home.

Boo on losing to the Shark by one point.

My space is a double space so it is $150 per month for rent. No barcodes (I bet the cashiers would prefer that!) but each item does need a price sticker. I printed mine with the computer instead of hand printing which is good because my handwriting is awful!

OH is being weird with oops, we're sorry pages...

191.4 today we went to Out of Africa, a wildlife park in a town nearby. Mostly it was disappointing, with hard to see animals. But at the end there was a Safari bus tour where giraffes ate leaves from everyone's hands and zebras raced the bus. So that part was fun. Then we went to lunch that was just meh (it was just that kind of day!), then came home and napped in the sun.

We have everyone's excess degrees. 72 today which is 17 degrees over normal. Near 80 this Friday which is 23 degrees above normal. My folks are thrilled!

Not much else to report here. Hope everyone is well!
