The summer went by fast, and then it occurred to me not really, it IS October after all. With this extra warm weather my brain still thinks it's July. Safe trip home!!

Hi everyone, happy Sunday.
I'm getting ready to return to AZ tomorrow. Kirby just got his bath and blowdry. Jiminy Christmas, he makes the latter part a horrendous experience. He treats it as Dog Wrestlemania with teeth and claws. He has a fabulous time and I'm wiped out and in pain...
It's been a good summer, but I am ready to go home. I've been reading your posts daily, just haven't been in much of a mood to post. Glad you all are well and having fun!
117.8 - always shocks me when I gain 1.4 pounds in a day. The apple cider donut was worth it though ;)
Lots of driving yesterday but that was worth it too. Great dinner followed by cake and ice cream at my nephew's home afterwards. Nice family gathering and my great-nephew was in fine form. A very active, handsome almost 5 year old. He brought us up to see his room which is wall to wall matchbox cars, LOL. The only downside was that my niece was very uncomfortable as she thought her breast was infected and was going to the ER after we left. It was on the side where she had a mastectomy, then a breast implant. Seems like she can't cut a break.
Today is more driving to meet people but not nearly as far. We are going an hour away to my former town to meet some friends and eldest DD at a winery this afternoon, followed by dinner with 2 other couples, SIL, and DD. We had wanted to get together with them all summer. It is supposed to be another beautiful day like yesterday with temperatures in the 70s.
Have a sunny Sunday!

Have you mentioned considering the meds with your doctor? I got support from both my north and south doctors on it but I had already been using it for quite a while with no negative side effects when I talked to them about it. A friend who needs to drop quite a bit of weight is getting pushback from her own, relatively young doctor based on his distrust of them. It isn't due to anything specific for her healthwise. We all know they have some negative side-effects we have to watch out for, but they aren't that common. Right now her need to get some weight off to improve her high blood pressure seems to be pretty important and like many of us she just hasn't been successful at dropping weight any other way.

I would think it is still worth packing as long as you leave things functional enough for you to live there and neat enough to show the house. You need to do it eventually anyway, so might as well continue while on a roll.

It sounds like an idyllic day by the lake. Lucky you going to the theatre two nights in a row!

Greetings
late night ipad check in. Gallery duty today which was pleasant. It was sunny and the ocean views spectacular. Interesting visitors. Then home to watch our football team which won. I made some chicken cheese quesadillas for dinner. They were ho hum.
enjoy you party liz. Nice gifts.
goose poop dd! Did not think of that but it makes sense. Must be all sorts of wild poop in all bodies of water. People here swim in the many rivers thought some are dangerous. Lots of geese flyover here and you need a hat! Aleutian geese come here and eat lots of grass and farmers are compensated for it. So not much else after football. I convinced dh to wash our sheets while i had gallery duty and he did it.he seems to need structure to complete tasks.
l really need to get some pounds off And it seem meds are the best hope, gonna try
walked some while at gallery. Will do more at gym tomottow
i an channeling good things on your house paula , burn some sage,,,,,,,,,,
Cheers Diane

Slow day. Packed up one big box of fragile serving dishes I use for entertaining. Not sure if I should keep on packing things up or just wait with everything in the air!
Tonight we are going out for dinner with our good friends and then probably hitting the martini bar just down the street from the restaurant or the tropical drink bar just above the martini bar! Might have to get the beet salad again!
DSD and hubby are here for the night. We had made the dinner plans with friends before they decided to come. Oh well! We can visit for a bit!
Your thoughts on why the dreams are coming back may have some validity. I'll have to ponder it some more!
What a welcome gift to receive a family picture that includes someone dear who has passed away. And how wonderful your SIL celebrates another birhtday in the face of significant health challenges. As for DD, your kids probably don't compute that you're not in your 40s or 50s anymore and can't do all the things everyday. What's the Toby Keith song: I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm good once, as I ever was.
Diane, your nephew was so young. 17. He's a Peter Pan too, a boy who lives on for us, but never ages. Liz I can see why Elise lives on for you in her 30s.
Paula do you think the dreams have returned because you are taking another big step in life by moving to Florida, and pulling even further away from your actual life with Ben, and the life you and Ben had hoped to have in Hawaii?
Peps you know we all started humming, And we're living here in Allentown when you shared your location.
CC, I hope you're okay. We miss you.
Ocean Diane, looks like a fabulous trip!
It was gorgeous at the lake yesterday, and still warm enough to swim, but I was hesitant to get in. There were a lot of geese around, and the beaches are no longer officially open, so they're not testing the water. Generally all is well, but some summers the bacteria level from duck and geese poop, and run off if there are heavy rains gets higher. Anyhow, it probably was safe, but I decided not to chance it, although there were other swimmers. Just sitting in my beach chair, reading, chatting, snacking was heaven.
Today: another gorgeous day! I do not tire of this, but stand somewhat amazed. It will be cooler tomorrow, but not cold. Sunday is the Twin Cities Marathon, so a drop in the temp will be helpful.
Tonight we are going to see the musical A Beautiful Noise, based on Neil Diamond's music and life. DH notice there were still some tickets available last night. It will be a theater weekend, with tickets to a Doll's House on Sunday evening. I'm here for it!
