Interesting peps because i took old tiger to aa internal medicine specialist at rhonert park he quickly figured out tiger had a metastisized prostate cancer that was into his lungs, nothing to be done, this was 16+years ago and i dont remember doctors name. 17 years ago. Dont recall his name but he was a very good vet,
The dog show veterinarian I mentioned works at the Rhonert Park specialty facility as an internal medicine vet! I took my old Toby there back in the 90s because they had one of the only neurologists available not associated with the university.
Greetings all
It is kind of a sleepy overcast day though I did get up early by my standards. I have made some beef barley soup out of the remains of the pot roast. Veggies added. Meanwhile I have eaten nothing but awful carbs today.
So our team lost but only by a field goal. Bad decision by coach.
Liz enjoy your alone time. I am like Peps and appreciate a few alone days. But then again I lived alone as an adult until I was 40.
Peps hoping Blitz improves. And hoping you get the scan soon. Dog show contacts are valuable. I took old Chip to a vet specialty place in Rhonert Park years ago but I am sure you have plenty of access in your area. Must read about albumin.
Hmmmm DD interesting on your DD's apartment issue. Sometimes decisions like this sort of unfold and become more obvious. Glad the new boyfriend seems ok. It would be really hard in this day and age to be a young person just getting started in the world. The path is much less clear. But she is very hireable should she decide to leave the area. Meanwhile you can rest up from travels.
Well time to taste the soup and do some laundry. Life in the fast lane....

Hi everyone,
I am back at DD's apartment and her internet! I've read through the last few days posts.
Your new livingroom looks so inviting Liz. Your days right now actually sound so restful to me at this moment, after so many days in the company of others. But I can understand too why you are looking forward to be reunited with your DH.
Peps, when I read about Blitz being sick, my heart dropped. I am hoping so much that all will eventually be well.
Loved the view at your birthday dinner Diane. Your description of the "ice cream" is intriguing, and makes me wonder if I need a new appliance! Keep us informed about the new recipes.
Paula there are so many parts in play when making a big move like you're contemplating. Stressful. And yet it seems to work out somehow.
During our stay in Amherst, we toured the Emily Dickinson house. I don't really know much about her, nor I have read her poems extensively. It was really interesting though, and has spiked my interest in knowing more.
Today we met the boyfriend. He made a favorable impression : ) DD seems quite happy.
What DD is not happy about is her apartment. She feels they made a mistake (she and her roommate agree). I am sad to say I also agree. It is just too small, on a super noisy, busy street, the whole neighborhood has parking by permit everyday from 8am to 6pm, so there is literally no place to park if you are visiting during the day, or want to stay overnight. DH and I started helping her organize, and were having some success, to see if we could help make it work. But now there is a new wrinkle. A dear friend owns a rental apartment in a better location, and almost double the size that is vacant. Today they offered it to her at the same rent (if they rent to her, they won't use their rental agency, and are passing the savings along to daughter). It is a most generous offer. The friend even said she would not charge them rent the first two months to eliminate the financial hit they would take for breaking their lease. She insists it's to her benefit to have DD as a renter, and she's happy to do it. DD is at a crossroads. She is feeling that even with the new job and salary increase, she is not sure she can make it in Boston anymore because it is so expensive. She's worried that if she takes the friend's generous offer and then still needs to leave Boston, the friend will have incurred a financial cost without the benefit of DD being her tenant long enough to make it worthwhile. And she's worried her roommate will endure another move and then have to move again. I told her to lay out those possibilities to each of them and let them each decide if they want to take the risk. We'll see what happens.
So, it's always something! Instead of organizing, we may be packing. Who knows. We leave Monday morning. I have had an absolute blast these last weeks, but I am looking forward to home also.
It's Saturday, so I must be at a dog show... and I am... Good show yesterday. Blitz earned an Owner Handled group 1.
Blitz is feeling better, but speaking with a dog show friend who is a veterinary internal medicine specialist, I found out his albumin level is dangerously low. We will continue to work on it through diet. The two vet hospitals are not getting his ultra sound scheduled, which I find utterly annoying. If it's so damn imperative that I get this ultra sound sooner rather than later, you would think my vet would have his people more on top of things. Sigh...
Bug is scheduled to leave to her new home on Monday. I'm feeling a bit blue about it, even though I know it's the right thing to do.
My weight continues to go up by a few tenths each day. Not sure what that's about, but I'm not happy. I am not eating in a caloric excess. I guess i need to ride it out. But BOOOOOOOO!!!!! 206.2 today. YUCKO!
Liz, you sound a bit lonely. I think it will be nice for you when DH returns. I am so fiercely independent that when Ron is gone (which is VERY RARE) I relish the time to myself. I also don't mind doing the road trips solo. I guess I'm pretty self sufficient when it comes right down to it.
Diamond D, I really appreciated the FB post today. So much to ponder - who we were and who we have become and the direction we are heading.
Okie doke, not much more other than rambling... which I can always do...
That is true! The skin weight is gone even though I still have some fluid weight! I think I'm probably just using more calories to heal too!

Okay day yesterday. Yoga was good but hard after not doing it for so long. The sun was out in the afternoon after a major shower in the morning so I sat by the pool for a couple of hours. It was a quick departure though because it went from sunny to cloudy to pouring rain in less than 5 minutes. Not a big deal for me getting wet but I had left the lanai sliding doors open and the wind was blowing the rain in when I got back to the condo. All dried out fairly quickly with the exterior doors closed and the interior ones open with the fan and AC on. I went to the club for Happy Hour and dinner last night. But I ended up just bringing the food home to eat because I didn't feel like sitting there alone to eat. I have a substantial 1/2 burger and mashed potatoes to finish in the next couple of days. Only 3 more meals before DH is here so I think I have enough between that and the rotisserie chicken.
Today I have water aerobics, then I'm not sure what I will do. Maybe the beach club but I will probably bring my lunch vs buying it there. I have a good book I am finishing on my kindle and quite a few others waiting behind it.
Have a superlative Saturday!

LOL - last time I had a Big Mac my digestive system complained for the next day.
I was thinking about your weight dropping. Didn't they remove several pounds of skin? So your starting weight without fluid would be your weight just before surgery minus the skin?

Amazing that there was all that complaining about the glass studio but now they aren't using it.
There is a bar near where my daughter lives that has amazing and inexpensive food. You have to order it at the bar, but then they bring it over to your table. A place I would never have gone to either.

That club probably has other facilities other than just golf - ours does including tennis, pickleball, several restaurants and the beach club (plus runs all those activities we go to like dances, wine dinners, etc).
