Hello tribe, I am posting from Iona!! We are in love with the Inn we are staying in for the next 3 days. I'll post pictures on Facebook. As I posted on Facebook yesterday, we were not able to complete the last legs of the journey to Iona because both ferries needed for the trip were cancelled due to dangerous winds. We were on the morning train when we got the message, so I was able to make a hotel reservation. Once that was done, I relaxed into our fate and our day/night in Oban was fine.

This morning we got on the first ferry at 8:30am, were met by the driver on the other side, made it to the last ferry, and checked in at 12pm. We've had lunch (OMG a haddock chowder with a sandwich made with an amazing tomato chutney and cheddar cheese, the cheese is to die for in this country!). we're admiring the sea view from our window, and now that it is done raining, we are going for a walk, which will bring us to the massage therapist's home. We are going to have scalp and facial massages, and on Wednesday we will have 90 minute full body massages. Dinner tonight at 7, then off to the prayer service in the 1000+ year Abby (or the remnants of it, it has been reconstructed several times) at 9pm. then sleep. Feeling very relaxed for the moment. : )

I totally understand, but would guess it won't all stay.

I will start the meds back up again after surgery as long as I am at least 125 lbs. The weight has been coming on fast this last week. I know it is best going into surgery and during healing but kind of scary seeing the scale rise, especially so fast!

118.6. Same - still some junk in the house yesterday but all will be cleared out by mid-morning. 6 of the weekend guests left last night and the remaining 2 leave this morning. So it will be just DH, Justice and me.

The wake and funeral for DH's friend's wife is right on the days we were supposed to be in Bar Harbor. It appears online that the same room is available the next 2 nights so we are trying to change it but haven't been able to reach them either via email or phone. It is an Inn so there aren't always people there to attend to business. Must try and reach them again today.

The beach was beautiful yesterday but I will probably skip it today. DH is golfing this morning and I will do the long Justice walk alone and work at getting the house totally back in order. I am hoping that the remainder of the chips and refrigerator junk goes, but if not will just dump what we won't eat and won't keep for a while. They probably won't be back for at least a month. Friends from central Massachusetts and now the Cape are coming our way for the afternoon music venue, then to dinner at our new favorite restaurant tonight. Maybe back to the house afterwards if there is time to have a fire in the backyard pit.

Have a lovely Labor Day!

Interesting that you can feel that the meds aren't on board anymore. Do you plan to start them up again at some point? I almost can't remember what it was like without them and am afraid to be without any in my system.

You will make another paradise in Florida!

Disturbing that the tariffs don't just raise cost but affect the supply as well.

I hope the museum visit was enjoyable. Five years? What could take that long? I couldn't live with any project that lengthy.

123.7, up another pound! I?m almost back to my low goal of 125. Just in time for surgery. I can certainly tell the meds are not on board anymore!

DS2 is here. DC1 visiting as usual on their day off and DSD here but running all weekend with bridal shower and bachelorette party activities for her good friend. That should all end tonight and then she will have a few days to just hang with us!

Went to church this morning and gave just been hanging with the kids today. Will take DS2s BFF to the botanical gardens for a photo shoot today.

Went in the hot tub last night and plan some patio time in the next few days. So little time to enjoy our current backyard paradise!

Hope you have a great beach day Liz! Fun that all the dogs are enjoying each other!

Love that you have a snuggler in Grizz Peps. That?s what I love the best about having lap dogs. Enjoy the ice cream! I sure have been!

Diane, crazy about the tariffs affecting your glazes. I?m sure so many more people than the average person realizes are affected by them!

Greetings all

It is overcast today but calm. In a little while studio buddy and I are going to the art museum for a couple of particular shows. The museum is an old Carnnigee Library building and is a work of art itself. After that we will likely go to this one bar for burgers. So I will skip the gym but likely get in a few steps. Studio buddy is still building her house but hopeful of getting in to it by the year end. It has only been five years...

So Peps you have a dog stole. Mine like to do that too- get on my shoulder and lurk like a gargoyle. Isn't retirement fun?? Do whatever you want on whatever day you want and don't feel like you have to ration your weekends. Ouchie massage?

Liz sorry about the wife of DH friend. My sil died the same way - felt crappy and we dragged her to the hospital only to find she was full of cancer. Died a day later. Glad your DD is doing well. And yeah, whatever is in the yard that the dogs might make a mess of will indeed happen. Out here it is redwood bark and needles.

Another dinner of chili tonight. This has been an especially good batch I must say.

Last night was art night up at the gallery. We had big sales and I sold 5 things. Gotta get busy. Our studio is being affected by tariffs now. We buy raw materials to make glazes - like silica and feldspar and many are imported. Same materials that are used to make glass and other refractory products. Some are completely unavailable now. We may have to redesign our glazes or even firing temperatures. A big deal.

Yooo Hoo DD! on the ferry?

Diane S
