Funny how we can get on our partner's nerves at times by just not thinking about what their expectations are.
And I think most people have that tendency to spend conservatively in some areas vs others even if it doesn't always make sense. I'm cheap with workout stuff and underwear but spend a lot on clothing and shoes to go out in even if I don't wear them very often. Totally nonsensical.

202.9 - hey still in the 202s! To me that's huge. I usually have a good rise after a new low. I think the incentive of being so close and my upcoming trip are helping me make eating decisions geared toward weight loss.
I was sent a photo of me at the dog show this past weekend. The comment was about how good I looked. That sure made me feel good. I'll see if I can lift it and put it on TT.
Ron and I had a bit of a Mr. and Mr. Bickerson day yesterday. Not sure where my head was, but I sure did trigger his nerves. Kind of cracked us up. It was good natured nattering back and forth, but for some of my quirks he was just not in the mood. Example: He will ask me a direct question like, "Which tamale would you like; pork or chicken?" How do I answer? : "I don't know. Which would you like? I don't really care." DRIVES HIM NUTS (which I get when he explains... but it's my knee jerk answer - because I truly do not care)!!!!!
I need a new pair of workout athletic shoes/sneakers. I don't know why it kills me to pay so much money for well constructed, good fitting shoes, but it does. I also need shorts that are not workout attire. The price of shorts is killing me, too. Now, I don't bat an eye about spending money on a new puppy or grooming tool or trading out RVs... but damn, spend a buck or two on shoes, socks, underwear or any clothing basics and I'm a cheapo! I'm thinking about checking out St. Vinny's! Though I've never been able to find a damn thing there except for costumes for special school events.
Speaking of spending money on dogs.... Looks like my Lakeland Terrier puppy has been chosen. Yay! Now I just wait for them to tell me he's ready to come and live with me.
Liz, I love your soft spot for Moby and your willingness to step in and take care of the little guy. Making travel arrangements for a dog is not an easy thing. You were really generous to take that on. I hope they are able to figure it out for the trip back to FL.
I am in a rambling mood, so I should sign off before I write a novella!

DH is golfing for the second day in a row. He has been getting lots of invitations since the association ended. Guys like playing with him. He is a decent player and he is enjoyable to be with - a nice sense of humor.
I am feeling so excited for Peps and DD. When I retired I told my boss about 6 months prior. Then it became official about 3 months prior when they decided to "reorganize" my department and I said no thanks, I'll retire. The last month or so seemed to fly by and amazingly all of a sudden I was done! Such a freeing feeling.
Our houseguest has 3 more days of "vacation" before his trip home. He will be picked up Thursday evening. We had to wing it with his eating at first. He weighs slightly more than twice Justice so I gave him that much dogfood. And I fed him in the evening with Justice. So the next morning he sat staring at us and putting his paw up on DH's leg. When I got up, Moby ran into the kitchen and stood staring into the bowl I had used for his food the night before. I had a sneaking suspicion that meant he was used to eating in the morning so I gave him a small portion. Sure enough his owners said he usually eats once a day in the morning. So I gave him another small portion last night when Justice ate and the rest of the serving this morning when he came asking for food again. Smart dog!
Not sure what I will do today while DH golfs. I could be lazy and go to the pool or I could do something useful and start painting some furniture pieces that I want to lighten up. If I am going to do that before we go home I probably should start it now. Might be a weather dependent decision (we are finally in a summer pattern, so it is hotter, muggier with showers in the late afternoon or evening).
But first I will have to drop DH at golf (in case I need the car), then walk the doggies. Moby is much stronger so I have to keep him reeled in close to keep better control. But they both enjoy long walks.
Have a toothy Tuesday!

Maybe tech challenged friend uses his tech issues as an excuse to stop by?
We share a bag Orville Reddenbacher Naturals Simply Salted popcorn about once a week. Doesn't seem to affect our weight much and the kernels pop pretty thoroughly.

So via Peps countdown, you are at 38 days?!?

I do use Square on my phone for CC payments. You are right about the art fair set up, yuck! At least DH helps!
Popcorn actually sounds good. I might have to pop a bag if we have any. I'm down on calories for the day!
Coffee shop was good! Had 1/2 of a BLT on flatbread and a lavender latte with FF milk.
You are having nicer weather than us, though it should warm up more tomorrow.
I'll have to check mousetrap out. Is it out on one of the streaming platforms?
June 13th is my last day. I turn in my computer and badge, and whatever happens after that happens. They can't ask me to revise anything, or try to call me in during the summer for a project. I will finally be done, done.
Greetings all
More sun here. That's the way it is for the next months. Yay. This morning Dh's tech challenged friend came over because he could not get his laptop working. After 20 minutes he left to go get a haircut and then came back. So weird how he goes about stuff. But by then DH had done a force quit and all booted up fine. You would think he had learned by now that most computer issues are solved by reboot. Whatever.
Liz glad your "houseguest" is working out and that you have some transport options. Had no idea there was such a service. Good to know. Ditto on Peps trick - opposite of putting thumb on the scale.
Good luck at the art fair Paula. Glad it's you and not me. it is fun to have people come by and admire your work. Not fun to load and unload. Do you have a phone or iPad app for plastic payments? I used to use The Square.
yay Peps new low!! Wishing you and DD a great last few weeks and that all goes smoothly. Thanks for the tip on the pants. Will check it out for DH. Good to know there are some new fabrics that don't feel like itchy saran wrap.
Not sure what is for dinner tonight. Mexican is irresistible when available. Even our highly Americanized version. I think I have some taccitos in the freezer. Might be the ticket.
We watched the reboot of Dexter - one season after he flees Miami. It is actually pretty good once you get used to Dexter shoveling snow.
DD that dog is tempting but maybe not a good plan at this point. Brazil.....
i ran a lot of errands today - two drug stores, banking and then the studio. Glazing and glazing.
Anybody eat popcorn much? I had pretty much given it up as I hate how it gets in my teeth but lately have been craving some. Came hope with a Skinny Pop knock off since they were out of the real deal.
