Greetings all
Oops missed yesterday. I had gallery duty on sort of short notice but it was fine. The little town looks great and a decent amount of people came in including about 10 in the last five minutes for several hundred dollars worth of sales. I kept having to be the ear model for ladies looking for gift earrings who went through many pair. All good. DH brought home a tuna sandwich from lunch so dinner was set.
So Derby day Ann. Glad you get to do a party and dress up. I wondered about those giant hats - seems like an obstruction. Enjoy the day even if you do have to drink bourbon (my first drunk experience and the stuff gags me to this day). GL on continued remodeling.
Yay CC for the rugs. That does indeed look like the perfect thing for yacky dogs. Pic looks great. But the assembly looks like a whole body jig saw puzzle. No wonder you are sore.
Yeah Liz there is always one in every class who can do everything. Kind of why I don't do classes of anything physical. Glad you are enjoying it.
Congrats on 10 years Ocean Diane. You are doing so well! GL with dating. There are nice people out there. Our 80 year old widowed friend found someone really nice who is also 80.
Plans today are minimal. Gotta hit the gym and then maybe studio time. I am eagerly observing my giant climbing rose bu**** has loads of buds and one or two blooms but soon it will be intense. All the flowering shrubs - azaleas and rhododendrons and cherry trees and dogwoods and other unidentified stuff is blooming big time. It is great.
Autopilot DD. Well that works. Bequeath your pencil sharpener and other goodies!!! Theatre sounds great as always. Soon you will be partying like it's 1999. Remember that new years eve? I stayed home and did nothing while DH was on duty at the hospital where he worked in IT. Nothing happened.
Ditto Peps! 1999.

Oh Wow! You are having a much warmer day. We have sun but the high is only going to be 57. Enjoy!
Good morning! A sunny Saturday on tap, with the temp heading to the 70s. Perhaps sandal weather next week. This time of year, weather impacts my mood so much because I'm tired of coping with the cold, unpleasant days. So bring on some sun and, dare I hope, warmth.
Today is a knock around kind of day, with a coffee stop this morning. Tomorrow we have tickets for The Mousetrap at the Guthrie Theater. Next Saturday we are going to the Opera to see the Barber of Seville. It's our annual Opera outing with our Opera loving friends. We don't love it enough to buy season tickets, but we do enjoy the big name Operas each spring like La Boheme, Carmen, etc.
I feel like I'm on autopilot in some ways. It's too early still for me to begin dismantling my classroom, but everyday I'm looking at all the things and getting ready to disperse them. One friend already has dibs on my electric pencil sharpener :)
Good morning y'all ! I'm hanging firm at 139. My ten year surgiversary is at the end of this month and I am simply grateful. I'll be sharing more on TT.

120 - weird that one can gain 1.8 pounds overnight. Especially since I didn't really eat more than usual. But I did have Mexican food last night which must have had a lot of sodium. But it was really great food - the best we have had here in Florida.
Yesterday was a busy day with the carpet cleaning, yoga, beach, Happy Hour, then Mexican. Hopefully today will be less so. The only scheduled item is water aerobics. Yesterday's yoga was much tougher than I am used to as we have a new teacher. She looks close in age to me but she is a real pretzel (incredibly flexible). There was one young girl in our class who could do all the poses perfectly so the instructor was showing them that way though explaining how it could be modified for those of us less flexible. Pretty much everyone else was similar to me with bad knees, inflexible hips, etc.
Need to figure out dinner tonight - I'm not sure if I feel like cooking though I do have ingredients to make deconstructed pizza.
Have a satellite Saturday!

And that is why big house renovation/construction projects are so stressful! Good luck getting things resolved. Speed of execution seems to be a common issue everywhere. In Florida when they say a week they usually mean 4-5.

I looked up those rugs. They are really cool! Nice patterns and with your big guy (Kirby) a perfect choice.

Weeks later ... hullo again!
After nearly a week back home after my last work life runway moments, not much has changed here except that DH and I are getting testier and testier with our contractors, who've now started work on another big remodeling project and are spending barely 10 hours a week here now. We've discovered some booboos that we've discovered--some cosmetic, some potentially a pain in the ass, some their fault, some ours because we weren't C L E A R enough about what we wanted. Also, we're dealing with our own laissez faire approach to prejects we now wish were completed or further along--mostly the living room draperies. Also, the best upholsterer in town has cashed a big deposit we gave the company 4 weeks ago, but has not begun working on any of our drapery and upholstery and bedding projects.
In other words, everything's normal here.
Tomorrow is Derby Day after a big Derby Week. We're not going to the track this year, but will be attending a fancy party--the kind you drive your car to and then uber home from because the hosts don't want to be financially liable for any DUI events. I bought a lovely fascinator this morning to wear with my party dress after realizing that that at a sit-down dinner party you don't want a big ole hat 3 feet wide and 3 feet high obscuring your vision and preventing conversation. DH is pretty bored by the Derby scene, having celebrated several dozen ways from Sunday throughout his life. But I'm still enough of a Derby ingenue to want to attend. And an hour ago we received a pre-party party invitation from some other folks who are going to the big dinner party. I volunteered to bring a nice bottle of champagne and was told that tomorrow (day and night) is only about bourbon. Alrighty.
My current shopping challenges are finding the most powerful cleaning products that will remove decades of schmutz from our garage door windows and the best cleaning products for quartz countertops that won't damage the quartz. My big errand success today was getting Kroger to combine DH's and my Kroger frequent shopping accounts into the same account, while preserving all our digital coupons and fuel credits.
And that's all the news that's fit to print. :)
