201.2 today.

I think I am fighting off a little bug of some sort. I felt a bit "off" yesterday, but chocked it up to being tired. Today, I dozed in and out for an unusually late morning. I did not officially get out of bed until just about 10. Of course, I had been up just after 5 with Grizz and Dottie, and then around 7 I let all the dogs out and brought them in about 7:45. Then it was back to bed and in and out for the next two hours. Honestly, I could have stayed in bed, but luckily I didn't!

I checked my calendar when I got up. Thank God, I did! I had completely forgotten I had a pre op appointment for my plastic surgery this morning at 11 am. My questions have been answered and I am not really nervous about the procedure. I feel quite confident in my surgeon's high level of skill. I am a bit leery of the recuperation - especially the four weeks of recommended abstinence from work outs. I'm allowed to take my tirzepatide, but no NSAIDs or fish oil the week prior.

We did get a bit of a storm last night. The wind blew a lot of the straggling, hanging on leaves off the black walnuts, oaks and creek willow in the backyard. The pistache (Chinese Pistachio) tree in the front yard finished earlier this week. Now just the aromatic seed pods are left. It's a beautiful tree, but boy it's messy in the autumn!

Liz, you are one busy lady! I know I can have a full schedule at times, but yours is such a social schedule that I find it impressive!

Oh, Diamond D, how I wish I could join you and P at the Inn! It looks so inviting and festive! And we know the food is GREAT!

Happy Travels to Paula and CC!

Diane S., hope you are on the back side of your cold and you are feeling better with more energy!

The magic of this Monday for me is that Molly is in season/heat! She's been a long time coming and been driving the boys a bit crazy. But now I can plan her breeding and my spring time plans around a possible litter. Of course, she'll be ready to breed right around my surgery date! LOL! Perfect timing.

Winter sparkles to all!

100% Magic Moments. I remember the first Thanksgiving I lived on the east coast I made a surprise visit home. You would have thought I had arrived with a new car for my mom! Not having children, I don't quite get it, but on a level I do! Enjoy those grown up babies!

Is yours one of those fenceless midwest/east coast backyards?

Magical Monday: There are 5 does behind my house right now. I'd say that qualifies as a herd of deer. Also, it is currently 38 degrees, which feels like heaven after temps of 0 and 2 degrees this weekend. DD arrives tomorrow morning, and DS in the evening. So much magic : )

No surprise your friends embrace DH, as he is a very likeable guy, but also they can see how happy he makes you!

My cold is not Diane's cold after all as I am already feeling better than yesterday.

I have an online doctor's appointment in a few minutes. After that, I'm not sure if we are going for our coffee date, or if there are other things we need to take care of today. I should be warming up a bit, so if we are out and about it might be a bit more comfortable.

I'll be looking for the magical moments this Monday. There are always some if you pay attention!

118.4 - not terrible after 3 days of snacky eating.

Three days until Christmas. Unbelievable!

Justice was glad to get home after the stress of being with the puppy. He really is a wimp and clearly happy being an "only child". I have a scratch on my face and a bunch of marks and scratches on my hands from said puppy. She has a soft mouth but those needle puppy teeth catch on the skin.

Lots of driving again yesterday (and a bit today, but that was my idea). Two hours from DSD's home to the Cape, then 1 hour to SIL's and 1 hour home. We were home at close to 11 pm last night. Wonderful visit last night with 2 SILs, BIL, and 3 couples we are close friends with. The husband of one of the couples was my deceased husband's closest childhood friend. Both the other couples were friends with myself and deceased husband. I love that they have embraced DH.

This morning we need to get out on a Justice walk after 2 missed days. We all need it but will have to bundle up as it is cold out there. DH is driving over an hour each way to have lunch with his childhood friends (they started doing this twice a year after Covid time). Late afternoon we will drive to my former town again to go to meatloaf Monday with SIL. I love that stuff - it is the only meatloaf I like.

Have a magical Monday!

Hilarious granny pants!

It is a long way to the airport but I am usually in your camp too if the choice is to sleep for a short time at home vs lying in a strange hotel room and not sleeping.

I bet you did perk up last night and enjoyed gathering at your neighbor's home. Nice that you have people you enjoy nearby. I love that about Florida, but I don't know anybody closer than an hour away here at DH's Cape house.

Merry Christmas and safe travels! Good job on slowly getting a tan. Luckily the sun isn't too strong this time of year. The max UV index in South Florida is 4 right now (compared to 1 in the north here LOL).

Another easy slow cooker idea! You do inspire me!

Yes, lots of family on multiple sides, including birth families of my 2 youngest children. And we are friendly with my eldest daughter's half brother and family who she is super close to. Eldest daughter is my stepdaughter wit's deceased husband. One reason we come north for the holidays. Almost everyone lives here.

Same wishes to you as to DD: I hope your cold stays minor and resolves quickly. At least you have a few days before Christmas and no company coming beforehand.

Surprising that on one is buying the restaurant? Sounds like a great venue.

i hope you just have a mild cold like Diane (at least I think hers stayed mild). No fun having company when you aren't feeling well.

I go on Tuesday, DianeS. Gah, the travel anxiety has set in. I so miss living 20 minutes from a great airport. 2 hours and 10 minutes away with a morning flight is brutal. I thought about getting a hotel, but then I'm guaranteed not to sleep versus being guaranteed to not sleep enough or well, but in my own bed. My flight is on the later side at 9:40, so maybe aim to be there at 8? I'm not checking and have TSA precheck. So that means leaving just before 6am. Kirby goes to the boarding kennel tomorrow. I'm so bummed for him, it's supposed to rain almost the whole time. So I don't know how much play time he'll get.

I had a nice lunch with my friend today. We gabbed for hours! I gave her a pair of Kirby socks (she loved them!!) and a ridiculous glasses wipe towel that looks like a realistic pair of giant granny panties. https://nerdwax.com

Tonight I'm headed to my neighbor's for a drink and appetizers. They are the nicest people and I'm so tired I really don't want to go! It got pushed back an hour and a half as he was running late. So now I'm REALLY tired! But I'm sure I'll perk up and have fun.

Anyway, that's all my news! Still debating footwear. Might be boots as wintry mix is back on the forecast.
