55 degrees and in the pool? That's Minnesota behavior! I have been in Florida (heated) pools when it was 55 degrees, because it was a cold snap on my vacation, but darn it, I'm swimming anyhow. Getting out is the problem : ) Curious what you decided.

Safe travels Paula! Can't wait to see pictures once you're moved in.

Beautiful sun again today, but it's deceptive. It's cold out there. Yesterday evening our Facebook was blowing up with photos of the Northern Lights. We drove over to a local park to look. Since we live south of Minneapolis, the city lights interfere a lot. We could see the white and blue columns shooting up into the sky, but not the colors. Still pretty.

I carefully repotted several plants that were on the patio/porch to bring into the house for winter. Dang, despite my best efforts, I have gnats. At first I thought they were the weirdest of fruit flies, but then I finally figured it out. There are only a few, but they just love to find you and fly around by your face. I just ordered some traps, and plant safe insecticide. It's a war on gnats and I will prevail!!!

I had a hungry day yesterday too. I forgot to weigh this morning in my hurry to get dressed, so I don't know if there was any damage. So far, so good today. I'm going to go work out a little later thsn normal, but there were a few things I wanted to get started in the morning. I'll be leaving the house as soon as the dryer is done. I know someone whose house started on fire because of their dryer. I am so paranoid now. I clean the lint trap every time, even if it was a little load, and I never leave the house while it's operating.

Tonight we have the jazz concert. I'm looking forward to it!

Happy travels to Paula and her DH. Florida Bound!

202.8 this morning. I woke up feeling trim. Such a great feeling!

Have to return the two suits I ordered. I ordered the wrong cut. Not sure what I was thinking. I ordered a slim fit instead of the modern (regular) cut for the jacket. I wear a slim fit pant, but I am not a slim fit for a jacket. I'm far too broad.

Great day yesterday for getting a few things accomplished. I had the dentist, dropped off and picked up cleaning, saw my dad and dropped off the paperwork for his new pharmacy (requested by the memory care place), got the eggs and chicken cooked for the dogs for the next week, had a really thorough workout for back, biceps and shoulders, and got dinner on the table and still had plenty of sitting around time.

I had a dream this morning of not knowing which class I started with at Walnut Heights (the school I taught on Thursdays). Then I started stressing about not having taught much there at all this year and having no memory of the classes there. My subconscious was interrupted by my consciousness which interjected into the dream that I was retired and this was nothing but a dream, so stop stressing. At that point I awakened and utterly delighted that I didn't have to go to school!

I have thought about a cleaning person. But then I dismiss it because one, I am able bodied and two, I think the dogs are just too much for someone to deal with - even if they are crated. Plus, our house is small. It's easily cleaned in a couple of sessions throughout the week. I'd rather spend the money on a massage or dinner out!

It is a wintery Wednesday here. I'm going to have to wear jeans. Boooo....

118.2 - Hungry horrors yesterday but they are less frequent and different than they used to be. I don't crave as much junk, so they don't usually do too much damage.

Good luck to Paula and her DH on the first day of the drive to the next new adventure in her life!

The pot roast came out great yesterday with very little work. The recipe I used didn't have much seasoning at the beginning (no salt and pepper), so about 1/2 hour before it was supposed to be done I tasted it and decided to add the salt and pepper but also added balsamic vinegar because I had seen that in a different recipe. It tasted terrific. Definitely a repeat!

I got a call from the osteoporosis specialist office and my first 3 Evenity injections (out of 12) are scheduled. It was a bit of a challenge because we had to time them around our Christmas trip home, a cruise in January, and a couple of weeks in the Keys in February. My first one is the day before Thanksgiving. Supposedly one doesn't get too many side-effects usually except sore arms (there are 2 injections - one in each arm).

The house is clean! It was so cold around here especially with a super brisk wind that it seemed like a good time to do the thorough cleaning that had to happen before Thanksgiving guests come in 10 days. We will do a touch-up then. I have a lady coming this afternoon to give me a quote for washing all the windows and mirrors. There are a LOT of them so I don't want to try it (plus I can't seem to do the mirrors on the wall without getting streaks). I know it sounds weird to have mirrors on the wall but though we planned to remove them when we bought the place, they really grew on us because they reflect the view of the water vs the room so really bring that view indoors. The lady will also provide a quote for housecleaning. We shall see if I decide to do that now. I had a housekeeper up north for the last 20+ years, but have never used one in Florida because I have been retired and clean at my own pace. But I will need one sooner or later.

It is supposed to be warmer by 10 degrees today. Which would make it around 55 degrees a****er aerobics time. She will do the class if it is 55 or warmer but do I want to be in the water in 55 degree weather??? Have a warm Wednesday!

Michaels is alway**** or miss for me. Without a definite plan I can see why it wouldn't meet your needs.

Are you thinking that a house that goes above and beyond your dreams might be worth moving for or are you just enjoying the idea of finding the perfect home but don't plan to move? I love to look at homes on Zillow (and have gone to open houses periodically) because I find it fun to dream sometimes. But I never found anyplace worth it when not having a definite intent to buy something.

Wow! Balsam does stand behind their trees! I had one in the other house - it was a beautiful one (DS has it now).

Haha, there's always a price to be paid. You earned your new tree!

Hahaha! I can understand that! That would be uncomfortable like being in a chokehold!

That, my love, is on purpose. I HATE the tightness of a snug collar. So the neck size on my dress shirts is always a half to an inch too big, if I'm buying neck size/sleeve length shirts. I have several short sleeve dress shirts for summer shows that are generic size Large. Those fit snugly around the neck - I'm not a fan. LOL

Oh, it can be altered. But if it has to be "rebuilt" as they say, it'll be a fortune.

And while I'm being critical, your shirt neck collar can size down too
