You are definitely practicing for Florida!
Now that I have been around my current weight for quite a while, I am finding that as long as I watch my eating "rules" most of the time, an occasional blip in eating doesn't cause any weight increase. I don't track calories at all. It's actually weird that DH is tracking WW points and I am not tracking as I used to a fanatic about things like that when watching my weight.

We knew about the lifetime pass but DH didn't have $80 on him. We will get that next year.
Good news about your Dad. Hopefully he is back home soon. And good for you figuring out those driveway lights!

So, so sorry about your friend's husband. Impending deaths and births - the circle of life.
Preparations for Europe have mostly been via making packing lists and checking that I have enough medications for the timeframe. I need to remake the bed in the other bedroom so I can start laying out clothing, etc. SIL has found a dress via Amazon that she can wear though may look at one more place today. She is going to make it to Spain but we might not do a lot of walking around.

Loved the dog pictures! Looks like they have the same mixes we have here!
I hope none of you end up really sick. That can really put a damper on your travels.

Good morning friends!
I am in Vienna. We are back from a walking tour of the old part of the city, called District 1. This afternoon we return to the same district for our tour of the Spanish Riding School. I did a little research and was intrigued to find that General George Patton is in great part responsible for salvaging the school from ruin after WWII. The school and breeding program was going to be terminated, but Patton saw to it that the US kept it going until it was self sustaining through the Austrian government.
I am refusing to let my little cold get me down. LOL! At home I might be taking it a bit easy. Not here. I'm fine to push through. We are only here for two more days after today. Then 14 hours on a plane and home we will be by Wednesday night!
Not sure I mentioned that I was a bit short on my tirzepatide for this last dose. Only about 5 units, but it is enough that I can somewhat feel the difference. I can see easing off the medication will be a slow process.
We went for an after dinner walk last night (brother and I). Beautiful civic gardens and an amphitheater with a symphony orchestra concert. Absolutely delightful.

Except he is fine to run around the yard! So it's kind of useless except for May when it's buggy. But maybe I'll use it more when the screen rolls up and it just feels like an alcove of the backyard!

The previous owners who built the house had cats, which can't be outside cats here with all the predators. So they built things like low windows next to the outdoor fountains so the cats could see them and a "cat patio" - a screened porch off the main bedroom for the cats to be outside. It has a fireplace, and TV. But it was called the cat patio on the plans and they called it that as well, so I just kept referring to it that way, even though I am not a cat person!
Greetings all
Another sunny breezy summer day here. The flowers are looking great and the sweet peas are very slowly rising. Wish they would hurry up.
Today's plans are the usual. Walk at the gym and visit the studio. Gallery duty is scheduled for next month and I get off light which is good because I have the guest coming and a lot of other things.
DD good on you for having the experience of being tired vs being fried. Huge difference. Tired can feel good. Fried never does. More flowers needed.
Peps we are loving your travel stories. One wonders about those elaborate churches and structures and how they did not serve the average person except as a reminder that there is a separation from the cruelties of nature; however slight. Or the religious inspiration I guess. Of course, excesses of the wealthy are the seeds of revolution. Still it is fun to see all the grand stuff and think about how much effort went in to it. Austria sounds like the best! And dog watching is so fun in Europe. I remember all the dogs at Versailles - quite the variety. European cities are so much more dog friendly. But the dogs are better behaved than mine. And BTW you probably know that foreign countries have far stronger and better cold meds.
So CC you are becoming quite the handy person to have fixed your own lights! Hope your Dad gets out of the hospital soon with good reports. I guess golf is a good thing... Good tip on the national park pass.
Paula the cards arrived! Thank you so much. Very nice work. Hope your mom continues to recover and does not get too much cabin fever.
Liz a fire pit sounds fun. Marshmallows?
I made hamburgers last night. Pan cooked. Amazing how good it tastes when made with the 95% lean local grass fed beef. Probably more tonight,
We have been watching Sirens, a series about two sisters and snotty rich people. Amusing. Finished Black Doves, a spy series.
Well time to toss in more laundry and get moving on this truly lazy summer day.
