Greetings all

The sun is out big even though my Apple watch says it is cloudy. I had to take Poppy for a vet apt annual check up and that is quite the excursion because she whines in the car and acts like a hyena while waiting in the vet office. Fortunately there were not many other pets there. I really need CC's trainer to teach her some manners. Me, who used to train dogs to advanced obedience titles - can't seem to get her to settle down. It is because she has not been many places.

Liz sorry your DS had to pay a ransom to get his car back. What baloney. And yikes on having to wear boots and sweaters to a tennis tournament! Weird that it is that cold. Enjoy the stew.

Paula what is up with the tooth infection!!!?? No fun. Glad you are getting treated. Amazing that it is not painful. Wasn't Sanibel Island hit terribly by a hurricane a year or two ago? I am curious as to how much rebuilding is completed. Pelican pictures!! We have the brown ones here.

Peps sounds like you have a great day planned for Ron. Enjoy. So the Scrabble hostess is home from the hospital but I have not talked with her yet. I would host Scrabble but then she would have to drive 30 min in the car to get here so likely we will still go to her house. Maybe while I am there next week I can do a few things for her if needed.

CC glad the HOA meeting was ok. Mr. Lowland needs to get his own legal advice regarding water diversion. Hope all the "Kinble" projects go well and that the front gate turns out well. Our home seller was Weeks. We have been "Weeked" a few times.

Trying to decide whether to go to the gym or attack the linen closet. Neither is appealing. DH got a shingles shot yesterday and is feeling crappy. He was running the robot vac when I got home yesterday but quickly sent it back to its station (cell). But the floor is cleaner and I did not have to do it so no more griping.

Tee Hee CC sometimes you have to tell it like it is. Love the term "Kinbled" which I will now forever think of as gremlins. I am around of you for kindly being truthful. Good job. ds

Well perhaps they shouldn't have gloated about enjoying low maintenance. : )

Peps I did the same thing this summer with clothes. I went through the pile of when I'm thinner clothes and decided there was little chance I would get into the smallest ones I had saved. And if I was ever that small again, there would be lots of nice clothes I could buy for good prices at clearance sales and consignment shops. I released them into the universe (aka St. Vincent de Paul's Thrift Store) and felt lighter.

What should arrive in my email inbox today but an email from the Kimbles! He was nice and said they were in the neighborhood yesterday and thought of me and said the house looked beautiful and commented on the landscaping. He said they'd moved back to Sedona to a golf club that's around the corner and bought a townhouse and they're loving low maintenance living.

I responded to their email and now I'm kicking myself because I couldn't bite my tongue! I was super nice and said how much I love the house. In response to his low maintenance living comment, I said that I completely understood the appeal of low maintenance and commented how unforgiving the climate is on houses here. Here's the tongue biting part - I listed off all the things I've had to do, then said I was sharing not to complain, but to make him feel good about having sold! Probably shouldn't have said anything, but given I curse them daily, the devil got the best of me...

Happy Birthday to Ron! I hope you have a good dinner out together.

I am selling shirts, hats and tennis clothing at the tournament. DH is doing court maintenance. All is outside so I am a bit nervous about how cold it may end up being especially since our shift goes until 7:45 so the sun will be down.

200.6 - basically unchanged from yesterday.

Well, I got a little bee in my bonnet and worked a good long time on my much neglected office. I also decided to purge some more old suits/sport coats and slacks that I have been holding on to in hopes of wearing again. However, I decided I don't plan to ever be small enough again to wear the smallest of the collection, so they all got taken out of the office closet and folded and will go to Goodwill today or tomorrow.

A full-ish day for me. A dad visit while Ron is at his workout. Then after lunch I will take Ron to get a mani pedi for his b'day today. We also have reservations for dinner at a place in Crockett called The Dead Fish. Good food and a wonderful view. Ron loves seafood! Sadly, his b'day present has not arrived due to the winter weather across the rest of the country. C'est la Vie.

Alaska Airlines has cancelled all dogs flown in baggage to the Metro NY area through the February 3. Not good for the Westiminster bound dog show people. I have a feeling there will be a lot of absentees due to the extreme weather on the east coast. Glad I was not planning on going!

Liz, hope you are not exhausted by the end of the day. That's a lot to fit in. Hope the tennis gig is fun. What are you doing?

CC, I hear you on the joys of not being president of the HOA! Being president of the national Airedale club has its moments to be sure! LOL! Good luck on the gate. I like that you call your house woes "Being Kimballed"! That's funny!

Paula, are you still doing bible study with your Wisconsin peeps? Or is it a Florida thing to call in for bible study?

Diane S. perhaps you'll have to host Scrabble for a while? Hope your hostess recovers quickly and that the docs figure out what is causing the pain!

DD, continue teasing me with the photos of all the delicious Brazilian treats you and Pat are sampling! I am loving the photo journaling of your time in Brazil!

Time to feed the beasts!

Thrive!

Always seems to be some kind of "Kimble" popping up for you. That stinks!

That's does sound like a nasty infection! I am surprised it doesn't hurt and your face isn't swollen.

196.2. The play date went well. He brought a different one of their dogs, the matriarch, who they thought would be a better starter dog. He did great. There was only one correction she gave him when he tried to mount her and it wasn't harsh, but definitely relayed her message. He didn't try again! Next time he said he'd bring Snoop.

The HOA meeting was long, but at the end there was some nice feedback from two homeowners who attended and were appreciative of our efforts. One guy was a challenge, but I understand his frustration. He's the lowest lot in the development and is having trouble with storm water rushing from other lots and blowing out his drainage culverts. He's spent $100k fixing it and isn't convinced it won't happen again and so wanted to know about liability of the HOA versus him if he diverts the water and it washes out a national forest trail that abuts his house. He was a bit forceful and I was glad not to be president in that moment...

Today a metal fabricator is coming to give me a quote on a new entry gate. I have one other quote, but this is something I know nothing about so I want it done correctly, aesthetically, and not to overpay.

Then one of the other board members wants me to go with him to the pump house (where our well equipment is) to assess the condition of an old golf cart that's in there from when the developer was originally selling lots and driving prospective buyers around. It's old and probably just needs to be given away if we can find someone to take it. Which makes me think of Paula - did you get your cart issues sorted?

The hvac people called back and said it won't be as easy as they thought to get me new thermostats because of the off-brand heat pumps the Kimbles put in. Kimbled again!!

Anyway, that's me! Take care and have a great day!
