Last full day on vacation. I'm ready to get home. It has been 10 days, so I think my limit these days is 10-14 days. Not so thrilled with the 3+ week trips anymore.
We had a really good day in Old San Juan yesterday. The last time I walked around there was 1996 and I don't remember it as being so clean and friendly. It reminds me a bit of Spain walking down the narrow streets lined by pretty attached houses with big wooden doors. We ate lunch at a place called Chocobar where EVERYTHING has chocolate in it. I had half of a chocolate grilled cheese and a chocolate martini. Wow! We walked for a long time both before and after that so ended up in 2 very local feeling bars in the afternoon. The second one which we went to in late afternoon was called Birra and Empanada and is well known for their empanadas so that is what dinner was. I had the carne amarillo one and 1/2 a pollo. I was stuffed. Really eating off the ranch this weekend!
The plan today is to hang around the pool/beach at the resort until early afternoon, then clean up and go to a nearby sports bar. We have identified Lupi's Mexican Grill And Sports Cantina as a good place to watch the Patriots/Broncos game and it is only an 8 minute walk from here.
Glad not to be in New England today. Where our daughters live there is 1-2 feet of snow expected, and on Cape Cod 8-10 inches between today and tomorrow. I think they will all be watching the game from home today and are planning to work from home tomorrow. One good thing is that the snow is supposed to be light and fluffy, so power outages shouldn't be a big issue.

Have you googled the ear soreness to see if it appears normal for some people? Maybe it happens more to men because of the hair follicles caught behind the ear?

Do enough people in restaurants/stores speak English so a non-Portuguese speaking person can manage? I may get a bug to go to Brazil after viewing your trip.

Pilates is big thing in our community. I haven't tried it yet and don't know if I will - I stick to yoga for now.
Most individual depositors do it online via apps these days, so maybe that's why they don't think about replenishing deposit slips?

Ultimately those senior moment lapses in names will increase but the good thing is they do for everyone else too so pretty much everyone volunteers their name quickly and doesn't mind if they have to be asked. Unfortunately it goes with the territory. I have never been good at names (though I am good with faces), so I have had to deal with missing names when introducing people a lot in my life. Much easier now that it is acceptable LOL.

I don't think we will ever lose appreciation for lovely weather after so many northern winters.
I remember when friends and I moved from talking about college, to getting married, to houses, to kids and around 45 we started talking about our health at almost every get together. No one seems to escape the aches and pains. At least we can commiserate.

Another gorgeous day here in SW Florida. Day started out with water aerobics and then DH and I took a road trip to Sarasota. We went to an art fair that we went to 2 years ago. I was looking for a particular artist (but don't the name). We were disappointed that the show seemed much smaller and didn't have the artists we were looking for. I did buy a $15 sandcasted turtle!
We had lunch out at a Mexican restaurant we had enjoyed in the past. The table side guac and chips were very good, my chicken taco was only okay. Like Diane, I enjoyed Mexican leftovers for dinner.
Sounds like both of our world travelers are still having fun! CC is still working on home repairs (I was so hoping you were done for a bit) and Peps is still rocking the scale even if there was a slight blip upward!

200.0 on the dot! Like CC, up just a bit today. Sad to see a 2 in the hundreds' place, but so be it. Had the post diarrhea constipation yesterday and ate more normally, so a slight uptick is reasonable. I will just keep plugging along!
The ear soreness is lessening, but still aggravating as hell! I don't mind the tight neck muscles, but for some reason the tender ear cartilage really bothers me. I have another follow up on the 5th, but was thinking that if on the 28th my ears are still quite sore, I will call and ask to be seen. Cheek and jaw swelling seems to be going down just a little bit each day. I look fairly normal this point, but am still a bit self conscious. We did go out for dinner last night and I was comfortable.
Beautiful sun today. Cool and crisp, but gratefully, light jacket weather. So thankful not to be in the north, midwest or east today!
