Importance of Walking

Walking 20 minutes can add to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $7000 per month

I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years,.......
just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it
.
AND
Every time I start thinking too much
about how I look,
I just find a Happy Hour
You could run this over to your friends
But just e-mail it to them!

Good Information Laurie,

Don't forget to get a step counter to keep track of all the steps you do when walking.  It really helps you stay on track with your walking...

Take care,
Kathy

Very funny!  That is why I encourage my husband to sit motionless on the couch for hours with Fritos and a cold beer!!!!!!

LOL - we may not live longer, but it will sure seem like it!!    Seriously, getting in shape and staying that way as we head into old age can really help keep us out of the nursing home!

Hi Linda,

I just loved that little funny. Some people did not get the joke though.  Like you I am praying that this will in the long run keep me out of the "Home"
Who ever did that funny doesn't have experience with pricing for a nursing home. My Mom paid 9,300.00 per month for her stay and that was a discounted price because she was a long term resident in the short term rehab unit...
That was over 4 yrs ago so by the time we are old enough our savings will only cover a month or two...my reccomendation to everyone is   Spend all your money before you go in a home, Medicare will pay for you if you don't have any money to pay...lol

Good to see you back on the boards. Home you are feeling better and your surgery was a success....

Hugs...Laurie
