"I had more contact with Dr. Garcia than most since his PA was out during my pre-op visits. He was very clear and up front about my surgical options. I needed a lap band removed and a revision - based on the information he provided I chose VSG. Since I had already lost a good deal of weight with the band, my process was expedited - no liquid diet before surgery, no pre-op diet at all. Dr. Garcia warned me that I may require two surgeries; one to remove the band with a VSG a few months later, but he was able to do both at one time. His surgical expertise is excellent.
After surgery I've only met with his PA and nutritionist, both whom are wonderful and give me all the time I need to ask questions. My only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the literature given, specifically on the diet and supplements. I also felt that the all weight loss surgeries were treated the same in my binder, with the same aftercare. There were some areas in the literature that frankly contradicted themselves (I have pointed them out to the NUT, who promised to fix them). Luckily I had done lots of research (and lived with a lap band for 7 years), so I knew what was correct."
