It's been a month
Oct 29, 2010
I just realized that tomorrow will be one month already since my surgery. The scale moves up and down the same three pounds every day this week but I have actually lost 34 pounds since I first got weighed at the surgeon's office. I have weird goals. I want to get to 231 since that is the weight I was when I tried Optifast many years ago. I want to get to 211 because that is what I weighed just before my pulmonary emboli. I want to get to 201 because that is what I was when I finished Optifast. (see-I have already lost more with the RNY than with Optifast!). And I want to get to Onderland-where I haven't been since college. Then I'll look at a new weight goals. Hard to see past that!

Seven days since surgery and down 12 pounds. I know I won't keep up that pace, but oh what a high!

The Journey Starts Again
Sep 19, 2010
LapBand surgery one month before I got married in 2006. It has been an uphill climb and a losing battle since day one. Miserable, throwing up, fill in, fill out, repeat, repeat, repeat. Didn't lose, actually gained. But....
I didn't give in. I found a new surgeon and I am revising to RNY on September 30, 2010. I'm in the fifth day of the two week pre-op liquid diet. Given that I haven't found a protein drink I can tolerate, I'm hanging in. Even lost two pounds! Counting the days until I join the losers' bench for good.
