"He goes above & beyond what most doctors do. For example, he visited me once to twice a day while I was in the hosp. after WLS. He certainly didn't have to as I had nothing wrongt w/my heart; however, as I'd had preop tests with him he felt it was the right thing to do.
I was so impressed w/him I've chosen to see him for something else I'd like looked at re: my heart. He's kind, interesting & explains everything."
"He found uclers that were previously unknown to me. He put me on a drug to get rid of them prior to WLS. Without the endoscopy, I'd never had known & could've been at risk for complications.
He was nice & reassuring. I liked him very much."

She did explain what to eat post-surgery but I would've liked more specifics.
I've since seen her a few times since WLS & find it easier to understand what she's talking about. She responds to emails pretty quickly. She also really knows her stuff & that's the most impt. thing to me. Plus, she's kind & caring."
"From March '94 thru the present, Dr. Ruden has worked with me re: my weight. For about 8 years we kept it at a good level, due to the use of many diff. drug protocols. However, he feels the drugs just won't do it any longer & urged me to look into WLS.
I was disappointed in Dr. Ruden's interest in my case once he told me I should have WLS. For example, when I went to see him the week before surgery (for the preop physical) I met w/one of his associates. I understood that & it was fine; however, he had to sign off on the sheet & NEVER came out to see me or wish me luck or anything. As he was the one who started me down this road &, let's face it I wasn't having a hangnail removed, I feel he should've come out to see me before I left the office."
