6 MONTHS! I can't believe how fast time has flown since my surgery! The experience has been incredible and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Trust me,I had my doubts in the beginning - like when i woke up from surgery:) - but every single day was an improvement from the day before and today as I look back, I would do it again without hesitation. I have lost 75lbs. I can now wear a size 14. That's a long way from a 20-22 dress size.Man! Everyday I look at myself in the mirror in disbelief. I can't believe the woman before me is me. Life has changed around me as well. My friends, coworkers, church members, family, strangers - all treat me differently. Yes, at times that really pisses me off but people are people and I knew to expect a change. But I've changed as well so I can't hold them anymore responsible than I can hold myself. I'm more confident, aggressive, friendlier and happier. I am a different person both inside and out. I like the new me. Let me rephrase that - I love the new me. I feel good both physically and mentally. Anyone out there reading this that is contemplating this procedure - DO IT! You owe it to yourself to be healthy. If you are sincerely obese, this is the greatest tool and you will be a success. The only negative that I have experienced through this whole event has been hairloss. I was prepared for it and it did happen. But I'm coping with it and I know it will grow back. If this is the biggest challenge I have to face having done this - then bring it on! Thanks again to all who have supported me through this wonderful experience in my life. And hugs, hopes and prayers out to everyone. God Bless!

I am one month post-op! WOO HOO!!!!!! Very excited about that! For the most part everything has gone well. Last week, however I started to experience nonstop nausea. YUCK! No fun at all and very discouraging. Spoke with the doctors office and they say it's all very normal. As of Tuesday of this week things have started to simmer down. I had several pitty parties on the way, though. That's for sure. This past weekend I just got so frustrated with not feeling good. I'm ready to feel good, by golly! I cried a couple of times and my hubby was pretty supportive. I have found that poppin' a tums right as i start to feel the nausea come on seems to control it. I got an e-mail from one of my fellow WLS friends, Teresa and she has been going through the same thing. Though I felt bad to hear how poorly she felt, I was also relieved that someone else was going through the same thing as me.(You know-misery loves company!) Hang in there Teresa, it's gonna get better! My friend Cheryl and her hubby are doing well. They had their surgeries on 11/13 and have done great! I am so proud of them! Teresa, Cheryl and Scott are going back to work on Monday. Good luck guys! You are going to do great! Well, more later. Love to you all AMOS family! kiss kiss...........Oh, by the way, I've lost 34lbs:) happy dance!

I'm BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow! I can't believe I have actually crossed over to the losing side. NOT and easy road! That first week was horrible! Absolutely horrible! I do not have a very high tolerance for pain so guess what - I hurt alot! I met a lot of post op patients that said they didn't remember the first three days and I sure wish I had been one of them. I remember from waking up in recovery to now. Two things that helped me tremendously while I was in the hospital was deep breathing and A LOT of praying! I got to meet another member of my AMOS family, Kathy Steiger, while in the hospital. She stopped by and visited. Thank you Kathy - that meant a lot to me. My angel, Cheryl, kept asking "is it worth it" and I always responded with "ask me in a couple days". Today - I can say it's worth it. Two days before the surgery I weighed 249. Today I weighed in at 228! WOO HOO! Today was a very good day. I went and got the drain tube out at Dr Clarks. It was a piece of cake compared to the one they take out in the hospital. I feel good and know that each day I get stronger and stronger. As for food, he said I can start eatting squeeshy stuff and work my way up. I had mashed potatoes for dinner. YUMMY! It is amazing how keen your sense of taste becomes. I still look back in amazement and can't believe that just 10days ago I did this. I have my next appt with Dr Clark in two weeks. He said the incision looks good and everything is healing very well. I feel so blessed and so grateful! Thanks again to all of you for your words of encouragement and support. Will post again very soon! ((HUGS TO ALL))
