Just a quick note! My sister, Susan, came down this weekend to spend some time with me. She brought be a wonderful surgery companion--Gastro the Magnificant! And boy is this frog magnificant. His skin is soft and sparkly...he has a wonderful purple cape and the sleepiest eyes. He will be my guardian during and after surgery on Thursday...thanks Susan!

Well, I had my pre-surgery check in at Good Samaritan and I'm good to go. I really like this system where you go in advance and take care of all the paperwork. I also saw the nurse who took my blood pressure, pulse, and temp. She was very thorough about illnesses, allergies, etc. The skim milk diet can be a real pain but I'm not having much trouble following it. I have added a banana a day to combat cramps (dr said this was okay) and have crunched a couple of carrots when the need to chew is overwhelming (dietician winked at this). It certainly has been revealing as a preview to post-op. I now know that I can do the liquid/pureed stage. And I've lost 14.5 pounds since July, which makes exercising much easier. Thanks for all the wonderful tips, posts, emails, etc. I read this site several times a day and it has been a blessing. My husband and sister will be updating while I'm in the hospital. I toast you all with a glass of Chateau Moo! Cheers!

Thanks for the kind words! I wish you the best during your surgery as well. This past week has been a blur. I can hardly believe it is finally happening! It's been a long road.

The admitting is often very difficult." ~ Julia Cameron "The block of granite which was an obstacle in the pathway of the weak becomes a stepping-stone in the pathway of the strong.
