Welcome Maria to this site!!! You have found a new family here that will offer you plenty of support, info, and encouragement. After three months I finally got my surgery date and it is on June the 20th. I am so excited, but disappointed that it is so long away. Good Luck to you on this journey.

Maria, I had my surgery based on long term watching and waiting to see how my mother in law did. She lost 170 pounds 5 years ago, and is doing wonderful. She has put back on 50 pounds, but is still wearing a 16-18. The only reason that she put on 40 of the 50 pounds was from steroid shots for and unrelated allergy. Dr. Choban told her that if she exercised, the weight would come off quickly. She knows for a fact that if she didn't have the surgery she would be dead right now. Maria, I am going to the same BTC as you are, but I have a different Dr. I am not as far along my journey as you, I am waiting for my sleep apnia test next week, then only God knows what else after that. I hope its a bit more organized when I get to the point that you are at right now. I have a freind that is 4 weeks post op and has lost 43 lbs. He had a female Dr at the BTC and just loved her.
