Hi Shawn, it sounds like you're doing great!! Me, too. I'm feeling less sore every day and it's finally getting easier to sleep. It was so hard getting comfortable the first week I was home. I can't believe I had to stay in the hospital longer than you, and I had the lap! Must have been those breathing problems I had...I didn't get to go home until Friday at 5pm. Like you, I'm getting tired of shakes and yogurt. :-) I sneaked a cracker the other day and nothing dire happened, but I've been good since. Also, before my mom left, I sucked on one of her potato chips. Man, the salt/vinegar tasted soooo good. LOL When are you going back to work? Start driving? I go for my two week check-up on Wed (9/27), so I'll know more then. It still hurts to sit at the computer for more than a few minutes. Not sure why it's different from sitting on the couch?? I do know, however, that sitting for too long anywhere hurts, so I've been trying to move a lot. Also, the dogs and I are walking twice a day now. We're up to about 15-20 minutes each time, and I can walk farther each day. In fact, we're walking more than we were before the surgery. (The cooler weather is helping!) Hi Shawn! I'm glad no one talked you out of the surgery! Sorry you had some uncaring nurses. Unfortunately, to some, it is just a job. They forget they are dealing with people who really need them to be compassionate and helpful. The nursing staff can make all the difference. Good for you for doing so well! Hang in there, and get well quickly! Robin

My surgery is in two days!!!! My parents are really trying to talk me out of it. Help, I need advice and words of encouragement to help me deal with all these negative ideas that are coming my way.

Hi Shawn, Thanks for writing me! Only a couple of more weeks until our surgeries! Are you starting to get nervous yet? I'm still really excited, but can't believe how close Sept 12 is. Seems like there's so much to do to finish up at work, plus I need to get my house clean before my mom comes...YIKES! Hope everything's going well for you. I'll be thinking about you.

Congratulations on your approval and for getting your surgery date so soon! It's less than a month to the new you. It's not an easy road we choose, but if used properly, this is a tool that will change your life for the better forever! Good luck, and please let us know how it goes.
