10/13/01 Sue, I'm so happy to hear that you are off the vent and that the ET tube is out. I'll continue to remember you in my prayers because I know God hears us and answers us. Especially when so many ask Him to watch over one special one. Even in his stressed and concerned state about you, your husband took the time to answer the e-mails of those who sent their thoughts and prayers to you. I know that having such a thoughtful and concerned husband has helped you through the rough days behind you and the still bumpy days ahead. With that kind of loving support you will make it through the healing and shrinking process just fine. I am so thrilled to hear about the progress you have made. I pray that God will continue the healing work He has begun in you and that you'll be home soon. Take care and be patient.

I talked to Sue!!!!! She sounded pretty rough, but said she is not in much pain except a very sore throat. She said she is up in a chair today. I am so glad I got to talk to her. It brought tears to my eyes because I have been so worried.

I called and talked to the nurse tonight. Sue was not out of bed today to her knowledge. She said that they weaned her more off the ventilator today and that she is basicall breathing on her own now. They are going to possibly take her off the ventilator tomorrow. She is very strong and alert and her lungs have not been so full of stuff the past couple of days. So that's great news!!

Ron reported this morning that Sue had an uneventful night,,,which is a good thing!! She was up for the first time yesterday. I talked to her nurse last night and she was very pleased with how Sue was doing. Thought she would be off the ventilator by Friday..lets hope so!! Keep those prayers coming.

Sue was up and out of bed yesterday. She stood next to her bed. The nurse also said that she is going to be sitting up in a chair now instead of being in bed all the time. She is still on the ventilator, but is very strong and will probably be taken off of it soon !
