Wheee! My insurance approved the surgery.
It looks like everything is falling into place.

Okay, I have a date-- it is official-- July 18. In the interim, I have been encouraged to work out and walk and try to lose some weight. I joined weight watchers (for about the 8th time), and have been writing down my food again.
Also have to schedule a date with my PCP for a physical.
I had to cancel my vacation-- I was going to go on a bike trip with my sister, her fiancée and a friend of mine, but given the date of the surgery, I probably will not be up for 17-30 miles a day by the beginning of August. I guess I thought I could get into surgery in June so I'd be ready to go, but ah well.

Waiting for the final paperwork to be in. Now that I made up my mind to do this, I am anxious to get rolling. Very nervous-- has anyone read the New York Magazine cover story on weight loss surgery? It is becoming real, and the mortality rates are scaring me. I know 1 in 200 is actually low, but still, no one wants to be that 1, do they?
I am waiting for pathology results from the endoscope and for my cardiologist to send a clearance letter.

I met with my surgeon today and decided to go forward with a RNY. I now have all this paperwork and follow up to do. I very nervous, but am worried for my health and think this is the best option for me.
