I have been overweight since elementary school. I was always shy and stayed quiet so no one would notice me in hope I would not be teased. When I inquired about WLS to my former Doctor she told me I would have to lose 40lbs before surgery, I remember thinking, " How i'm I gonna do that, that's why i'm asking you for help". That was about 4 years ago. Since then I have a new Doctor, After a routine visit she suggested it. I was told I would have to attend 6 months of classes to teach me how to eat healthy and monitor my loss. I had to do weekly food logs. That's when I realized I did not know what a portion was. At my highest I was 436 lbs. When i saw that number it scared me. I have a two year old son and I realized if I don't do something about my weight I would be so big that I would be bed ridden and would not be able to watch him grow up. I'm doing this for myself and my little boy. I want him to be proud when his mother and I want to be able to play with him with losing my breath.
So here's my Journey to successful weight loss.
