I didn’t know I was fat until my body commenced to tell me. When did the party end? I was so afraid to take my second step because I was  afraid Dr Marema was going to advise that a revision from a stomach stapling in 1979 was impossible. He now has advised me that a Gastric Bypass is the best option.

Now, as I gaze into my enormous amount of memories and at my age they tend to accumulate at a rapid rate of speed, your life tends to pass before your eyes with numerous emotions and mental picture of days past. My life was full of experiences and adventures. I was out going, never met a stranger, served on so many committees, boards and was most definitely a Type “A” personality and did I fail to mention FAT. I now feel that being a Type “A” personality is a façade to hide your inner soul. The soul that lacks self worth, has never met with approval and has never really discovered true happiness. Since I am a young 58 years of age, I will start my party now. I am saying publicly that the party starts now at 359 pounds. I recognize now with my deteriorating body, afflicted with so many disabilities that has stripped my mobility, social interaction, activities and sex life it is time to take control. Here I am, the master in control, or as I once thought, now starting a new life and a fascinating journey filled with loads of difficult tasks in my learning the new behavior needed to meet the other person in this body. Yes…. I am anxious, excited and did I mention scared! I am so blessed with Dr Marema and his wonderful staff, which has given me the direction and confidence needed to make the step to WLS. I have meet with Dr Marema twice now, completed an up GI, have an appointment for my psychological evaluation and with my pulmonary physician for his clearance. Now I am waiting for the hospital to obtain Medicare approval.

Now comes your part….. I am a firm believer of support. I need your support and friendship.

I will always be here for the group and hope I can assist anyone in need of help. I am looking forward to knowing you.
