He gave us a realistic pre-surgery weight loss goal and was very realistic and informative about the surgery.
I have found a great deal of respect for him as he has post-poned my surgery due to me being on steroids for my colitis. He gave it to me straight and even though I broke down crying and begged and pleaded, he didn't give in! He said it would be more dangerous than it needs to be and he stuck to his decision. He aslo said that if I were at "another hospital" that they may do the surgery, but that I would be more than doubling my risk for leaks or perforations!"
