Betsy Betsy Betsy...how's it going girl??? I am so excited for both of us. I truly believe the Lord had a hand in helping us get in touch with each other. Remember, life can only get better for us from here on out. I am praying for you for peace. Can't wait to see you on the 31st!!!

Yeahhhhhhhhhh for Betsy you got a date!!!! I am so happy for you. Now you can focus on the next task at hand drinking those yucky protein shakes!!! You will be surprised how fast time will fly. Betsy, I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery. My husband and I BOTH had our open rny's with Pacific Bariatric in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 315 lbs. We think PB is the BEST!!!! We had Dr. Rumsey and have the highest respect for him and his staff both at the clinic and the hospital. We also had the dreaded Kaiser!!!! What a group they are!! We had to call them at every step along the way too. It was like we had to guide them into doing their jobs. It took us 1 1/2 yrs to get approved but we are sooooo glad we did it. I sent you a long email to explain all. Again, good luck to you. You are going to do just fine!!!!!

Betsy, Thank you so much for your kind words. I just read your profile and I feel your pain! My family and I were with Kaiser 6 years ago. Does it make your feel better that they are just as bad in Georgia? And not with bariatrics either. Six years ago I was pregnant. We live south of Atlanta the only hospital that Kaiser would let me deliver at was on the northside of Atlanta. When I went into labor, we scooted on to the hospital like good expectant parents. 1 1/2 hours later when we got there, my contractions had stopped. They monitored for a little while and SENT ME HOME! I protested all the way, but nobody, even my usually wonderful husband, would listen to me. Well, 30 minutes after we got back home I was in hard labor. We made it back up the interstate 20 miles, with my mother driving, my husband on the phone with 911 asking for a police escort. The escort stopped traffic and took us to the nearest, non-Kaiser hospital. An ambulance happened to be at the front. They put me on a gurney and rushed me upstairs to labor and delivery. My son was born before they could transfer me from the gurney to a bed, and before my mother could park the car and get upstairs! Needless to say, as soon as we could we changed insurances. Well, that's the Leanne saga. I pray that everything will go smoothly now. Keep us posted.
