I started this journey the first time in 2002 when my neice had weightloss surgery. I went to group meetings, talked to a surgeon and his patients. I got a job offer and but WLS in the back burner. With the new job i had hoped to start losing weight, eating the healthy way and not have to think about WLS. As Time went on I started looking at WLS again. In Nov of 2006 I decided I had to do something. I completed a survey at several different sites. I picked a doctor in Jan and made the appointment that would forever change my life.
I went to Dr Pirrello on JAn 30--sameday my husband had knee surgery--- leaving my husband in the operationg room. I have been very fortunate to have a very supportive family. The children think it is great. Husband thinks it is the best thing I did for myself.
I am 5 months out now and down to 190lbs. I have had complications only once--got a few kinks in my intestins and had scar tissue from earlier surgery that landed me in the ER. Dr Pirrello was very deligent in taking care of this. He stayed at the hopital until 4am doing his magic.
