Today was my post-op visit.  I was happy to be rid of the staples.  Kevin also took 1cc of water out of the G-tube....what a relief.  Now only 4 weeks until this #$%$#@ tube is removed.  I am down 12 pounds and feel pretty good.  I am making the choice to eat, drink my water, and drink protein shakes.  I want to be healthy.  So even though nothing tastes good and I don't want anything, I will give my body what it needs to be healthy.

UGH!  I feel yuckie.  I am not hungry and eating seems to be a chore today.  Nothing tastes good.  I am in more pain today.  I finished the loratab and now I am on Tylenol.  My G-tube area hurts but so does my back.  I am having a double whammy due to PMS.  I am praying and trying to keep busy and not think about the discomfort.  I still haven't mastered protein and drinking enough fluids.  I am still trying though.

I am almost one week post-op and 3 days into the full liquid diet.  I feel good, a little pain, and a little tired.  I don't feel hungry at all.  I am doing ok eating, no pain during this process.  I am having problems getting all the protein and liquids in.  I am playing with different types of protein shakes to get my 60 grams per day.  I am doing a little better each day.  I am so happy I did this surgery and I thank God that everything is going good so far.   I slept 8 hours in my bed last night.  That was great...the only problem is I am a side sleeper and so far I can only lay on my back.  I know that in time all these minor problems will be gone.  I go Wednesday, June 13th for my post-op appointment and I will journal more then.

Last night was tough.  It was hard to sleep.  Thank God for demerol.  I was up and ready to go.  I did not like the leak test but I survived.  I tried to stay up and moving so that I would be ready to go home when the time came.

I was home by 3:30pm and so happy to see my daughter and the dogs.

The big day.  I got up at 3:30 am this morning and my hubby drove me to Ocala for my surgery.

Everyone was so nice to us.  We were a little concerned cause they kept asking me why I was there.  I thought don't you know WHY I'm here!!  They were just testing me.  I so wanted to tell them I was there for a boob job, hoping they would throw that in while I was under.

I remember kissing my husband good bye before being wheeled into surgery and moving over to the operating table but nothing else until I was told to wake up in recovery.  I had to touch my stomach and feel the bandages to be sure I'd had surgery.

All the nurses were great to me up on the floor.  I was up for my first walk by 2pm and feeling pretty good.
