More surgery uugh.

May 10, 2009

Well I woke up Friday night at 2 am with bad abdominal pains went to the ER at 7am.  They found gall stones and a kidney stone in my kidney.  So Sat. afternoon they removed my gall bladder and appendix.  Now I am hoping I can pass this kidney stone.  I did get home less than 24 hours after surgery, not near as painful as the bypass was.  Now I have like eight little scars.  The doctor that did my bypass surgery happened to be on call, so he was the one that toke out the appendix and gall bladder, I thought that was great at least I knew I was in good hands.  I am down 131 pounds so I can't complain about that, it might be more now that I have two less organs.  I hope to post some new pics soon, going to take some pain meds so I can sleep tonight.

Almost 4 months Post Opt

Mar 29, 2009

I am officially down 110 pounds and I feel great.  I had to go in and have my opening stretched about a month ago, I am down twelve inches in pants size.  I seem to go down a size about every 3 weeks.  I meet with Dr. Selwyn on 4/20, need to get my bloodwork done for the first time since surgery.  I have 70 pounds left and I will be at my goal.

9.5 Weeks Post Opt

Feb 06, 2009

Well I weighed in today and I have officially lost 70 pounds and boy do I feel it.  I am trying to exercise 45 min a day, although it was a rough week on that front.  The only foods I am having trouble with is extra lean ground turkey, and fish.  I feel great and am so thankful I had the surgery, it is so exciting to be able to lose weight and see such amazing results.

6.5 Weeks Post Opt

Jan 17, 2009

Well I am 6.5 weeks post opt and thins have been smooth sailing for me for the most part.  One week ago I was eating broccoli and it got stuck and it came back up eventually.  A couple of nights ago the same happened with some turkey.  I have had no problems with chicken.   I am down 53 pounds which I am very pleased with.  I am working out 45 min. a day, 5 days a week.  I need to do a better job with my protein shakes but they taste so bad to me, that is my main struggle right now.  I look back and have absolutely no regrets with my decision to have WLS surgery.  I just hope the weight keeps coming off my goal was to lose at least 180 pounds.

Surgery Has Finally Happened

Dec 05, 2008

I had surgery on Wed. Dec 3, 2008 at about 11 am I came home from the the hospital on Friday Dec 5.  I have some pains in the stomach region but overall I would say the pain is tolerable considering the procedure I just had done.
Dr. Selwyn really did an excellent job, I am a big guy and he was not afraid in the least bit to make my pouch small so the surgery does what it is suppose to for me.  I would recomend him I thought he was an excellent doctor.
