I talked with Dr. Fuzz nurse Susan yesterday and since she emailed me first, I decided to email her back and ask her if she had received all my stuff from Mary Martha the Nutritionist and if so how long did she think it would take before my file will be submitted to my insurance company. She told me that my Nut visit was on 2/19 therefor I am still down on the list and she said that she should have my file submitted by the middle to end of April and that the insurance co. has 30 days to reply. I've heard my Ins. co is quick to reply so we shall see. So I am guessing that it really will be June before I have my surgery. We shall see. ANY WAY! I have a new baby pup. Her name is "Bailey" and she currently weights 1 lb. 10oz. She is a very small miniature schnauzer. My 2 year old loves her.

Nutritionist and 2nd sleep study done!

Monday I went to see Mary Martha at 1pm. That was rather simple and easy. She just asked me a few question on what I knew about what happens after the surgery with my eating and about the dumping sydrome. What bothered me was that I mentioned to her that I had a sleep study last week and she replied that she saw that and I don't have it. Well I was confused since I called to verify that I had it and they said yes and I would need to go to next appointment. Anyway she said she thought she saw it on computer that I didn't have it. After we were finish she wanted me to understand that it could be May or June before I get my surgery. I told her I understand and I will just have to wait and see what happens. When I returned to work I called sleep lab again to verify what I thought they said earlier and they had Dr. Kumar call me back and she told me that yes I have it and a normal sleep scale was 5 and under and I was a 16. Seems I also grit my teeth a whole lot and my leg movement is crazy.
Well it's Wednesday morning and I just finished eating breakfast at Cloverdale kitchen. I went to the hospital last night for my 2nd sleep study and had to sleep with the cpap machine which was rather intresting. I did sleep pretty good with it but I just needed a couple more hours to keep me from being droppy all day. That thing was sorta like an oxygen cup over my face but it was a little tight and made my face sore. They said I should hear from home health soon on getting me a machine for home. Anywayssssss....
Well I'm at work so I'd better get myself ready. I'm so sleepy right now I could go in a room and snooze!

Well I got a call from my husband saying that I have a sleep test tuesday the 20th and if I fail to show up there will be a $250 chg. Weell considering I had no clue as to the study I just did I thought I'd better call and find out whats happening. Well they called me back and said that I have sleep apnea and would need to come back. Therefor this should be real intresting to see me on this funny cpap machine! Personal Nutritionist Visit

I went to see my personal nutritionist today and had to tell her that my insurance was going to cover the surgery and I am going forward with it. I've not cut myself off with her yet but I did request all my records for Dr. Fuzz per his request. The sad thing is I gained my weight back and I'm back to 237 which is only 1 lbl bigger than when I went to Fuzz's office and its the same weight that I had in November when I saw Sandy, my nutritionist. I see Dr. Fuzz's nutritionist on the 19th at 1pm. I spend the night at hospital on the 13th which is next week for my sleep study! I'm off to lunch! C-ya.
Psyc Visit 2-2-2007

Well I've tried hard to get on here sooner but I never seem to have time at home. Anywayssssssssssssss..... I went to see Dr. Smith on friday for my Psyc evaluation and all was well. He is a really nice man. I was a little worried about going because I wasn't sure how the roads were. I still got there right at 8:30am and I had to wait on Dr. Smith because schools were delayed 2 hrs so he took his kids to his sister so she could get them to school. When I got there his secretary gave me some papers to fill out and then he came and got me and took me to his office. He told me to have a seat in his red sofa. He said it was comfortable. It was more like a love seat and I am assuming its because it holds all sizes. haha! He asked a bunch of questions like what did I know about the surgery? Who was I doing this surgery for? Did I have any hygiene problems because of my weight? Did my weight interfer with my love life and so forth... He was really easy to talk to. When we were finished I gave him his $500 and he gave me a receipt to file with insurance later. He said that ever time I follow up with Dr. Fuzz, I will be following up with him and Mary Martha to. Well its late and I'm off to bed! C-ya.
Dr. Kumars Sleep Study

burrrrrrrrrr I just came inside from taking Chloe out to pee...
it is so freezing out there. They are calling for a snow and ice storm tonight but I will believe it when I see it.
Well not much happening but I did call Dr. Kumars office today and I have to spend the night at the hospital on Feb. 14th and maybe 20th depending on how the first night goes and then I see Dr. Kumar on March 7th to get the results. Well hopefully the storm won't get in the way of my psyc visit on friday... I will be so disappointed if it does. Well I'm going to type up all the reason I want feel this surgery is for me so if you want to see it later it will be down at the bottom somewhere in my story area! C-ya
Support Meeting and Sleep test

Well I went to my second support group meeting and I had a really great time. It makes me feel so much better to hear everyones experiences. I am so ready to do this and I know it won't be easy but I'm ready. I've made some new friends in here on the OH site.
Betty, Patty and I we went out after the meeting to get to know each other. They have already had their surgerys in December and are doing great. Well I have my psyc evaluation on friday morning 
so I'll update again after that. Then I have my nut (nutritionist) visit on the 19th. I've got to see my personal nut one more time and get my records from her and I'm waiting now for a letter that tells me when I will have my sleep study. Dr. Kumar believes that I have sleep apnea so she set me up for 2 visits because they say if you have it you have to come back again to get the cpap machine set for you. We shall see. Well I'm at work so I'd better run so I don't get in trouble. I took some new pics and will put them up soon. I finally met Dr. Fuzz !!!!!!

Well where should I start. I finally had my first visit with Dr. Fuzz yesterday. I want you to know that I was extremely nervous about that visit. I know it's crazy but I tried to weight as much as I could to try to get as close to a BMI of 40 and I just barely missed by a .10th.... I should have left my leather coat on and I would have made it.. haha... Well first I stopped at Wendy's and gulfed down 2 Jr. burgers and sm. frosty along with a lg big coke because I was hungry after a busy morning in the clinic and I only had 20 min. left before my appt. and boy was it good. :) I prayed I wouldn't need to go to the bathroom until after my visit. I got their 5 min. early but by the time I got to the window it was 5 after. I got checked in alright and my new insurance got me in fine. I sat down next to this young guy and I swear he must have been some homeless guy because I thought I was gonna barf he smelt so bad... I moved asap. Well I waited in the lobby for what seemed like forever but it was about 15 minutes. The NA took me back and got my weight which was 236 and temp 98.0 and BP which was 151 over 84 and yes I am on BP meds and It was elevated because I was so nervous. I then met their nurse practitioner and she asked me alot of questions, She wanted to know all the weight loss plans I've done.. and about my health issue and so on... she listened to my heart and belly and she told me that I definately qualified for the surgery and then Dr. Fuzz came in and met me and talked to me for a few minutes. He is really a nice guy and yes ladies.. He is cute... When he first came in he new I was nervous because of my blood pressure. I explained to him that I have been researching and anticipating this visit for a long time. He checked me out and looked at my belly to and he said that I definately qualify for the surgery because of my co-morbid health problems and that because of my weight it would actually be easier for him and that I should probably recover pretty quick and I may only be out of work 1-2 weeks. I am so excited that I can't stand it. It's all I think about 24/7. Ohhhhh and It looks like I could have this surgery in March if the insurance approves it before then. He told me to go ahead and set my appointment us with Dr. Smith for my phychiatric evaluation and then with the Nutritionist Mary Martha 2 weeks later. Well after I left their I calmed down a little after I let it sink in that it looks like this could happen. I had another appointment with my pcp, Dr. Morgan right afterwards for a medication check up and so I went to see him and he is prepared to work with me on the recovery end. Of course he checked my BP to and it was 152/90. The plan is to hopefully in the future get off all the medications that I am taking now. Okay........ I got home around 3:30pm and I had some time so I tried to make my first call to Dr. Smith. I left a message and when I didn't hear from him by 5pm I figured I wouldn't hear from him until Monday. Well at 5:20 the phone rings and its him. I got excited grab the phone. Chloe starts barking constantly because Cheyenne is in the back yard with her friends. Well when I answered the phone we chated for a minute and he gave me directions to his office and told me about the money thing which is no problem. I was so nervous when he asked me if I spell my name with a K dummy me says yes and I caught myself and said I was sorry it is with a C and he replied by saying utoh.. that's not a good start when we don't know how to spell our own name.. I was embarassed when he said that. Well we finally got a date of Febuary 2nd at 8:30am. He said it takes about one and half hours. So monday I will call Mary Martha and try to get set up with her for 2 weeks later. I asked Dr. Fuzz about my nutritionist visit and he said for me to go one more time and get my records from her and fax them to Susan his nurse and then I have a visit with the Sleep Study Doc on the 25th and he will set me up for a sleep study and when he's finished he is to send his results to Dr. Fuzz and Dr. Morgan for their records and after that is done they will submit my paperwork to BCBS and we wait to hear from them. From what I've seen they are usually pretty quick to reply so we shall see. Well thats it for now..
I know I can't make up my mind on the grapics for this page. I'm having fun playing with them. I found these this evening. Their called Healthy Living. Now isn't that just appropriate!

Okay..... I am Soooo excited I can't stand it. Bring it onnnn! I emailed my new insurance company tuesday and ask them if my new insurance with my husbands employer covers any Obesity problems. Since we just started with this insurance I didn't want to ask what I really wanted. Well I received an email yesterday and not only does my new insurance cover baractric surgery, it's going to pay 100% after my $150 deductable. See why I'm excited! :) So now I can go forward and my first thing is my Dr. appt. with Dr. Fuzz on the 19th and it will be up to him if they will do the surgery. I also have a consultation with a sleep study doc on the 25th. I am going to see if I have Sleep Apnea which I think I do or the Pickwickian Syndrome thing. So now I have to do all my test and then pray that BCBS will approve me. I will be a borderline patient since my BMI is below 40. Mine is 39.7. I have to have co-morbid problems which I do. Lets hope it's enough. I don't want to wait till I have a stroke or heart attack. Well I'll up date again soon! Drop me a message some time!
