Ok so I am still sitting at a stall of 245  BUT it's no big deal..  I have so much more energy than I have every had!! I am able to do so much more now than I think I did before I even got my weight out of control. I just wanted to post a blog trying to keep up on this site with what's going on with me.

Well I'm updating about "pending approval". My insurance company says I dont have enough history to process a pre-authorization for surgery so I am having to wait now till October. Which originally I was pissed but now I'm ok with it. It gives me more time to prepare and stock up for after surgery. I have heard BCBS is really easy to get approved but the coverage I have is harder. My PCP has had me on a 6 month diet but since they didnt record my height and weight for a couple months I cant use it so we had to start with May 08 so 6 months will be up October. YIPPY!! So thats my update and hope to see everyone on the LOSERS bench soon!!

Well I'm a little late with posting this but oh well I was busy yesterday went with my mom, neice and girls to Kings Dominion. Anyways I called the surgeon July 10,2008 and ask them when I would be getting surgery if I'm approved and the receptionist told me she wanted to do it August 5,2008.. WOW thats fast!! Of course I'm not complaining as I am so ready for this. I got off the phone with her and it hit me-HARD.. The excitement was over and the nervousness took over!! I have been dreaming of this for 3yrs now and for someone to actually give me a date was a little too much to handle. So we left around 1:00pm to take kids to Kings Dominion and we stayed till about 8:00pm ( it was packed!!) My kids are so excited for me my oldest daughter who is 13 keep taking pics of me and saying " this time next yr you will be skinny and the person in the pics will be a stranger to all of us" that was so cool!! So she kept taking pics and saying" ok 1 more last pic here before you are another person".. HAHA It is starting to sink in that when insurance approves this I will be a new person.. SO HAPPY GOT KOOL-AID SMILE!!!

I just got home from consult with surgeon and I cant be happier... well maybe I can when insurance says YES. But anyways he said I meet all the requirements my insurance ask for and he was impressed on how much info I knew about the surgery. THANKS TO ALL ON HERE!! He said that he will submit the documents to the insurance company tomorrow morning and if all goes well I should be in surgery within 2 weeks after I go to a class on July 22nd. My mom went with me and she told the surgeon straight up that she didnt agree with my decision but after we were done she told the dr. and myself that she was satisfied with everything and she is a part of my support team!! Oh I am so happy I really wanted my family to support me in my decision for WLS.

It's 11:33am and I have my appt with surgeon at 3:30pm today. I have been counting down till today in excitement until now. I am so nervous I can't think straight!! I'm like this for a couple reasons.. I have been trying to get WLS for over 3yrs now and was never able to due to the insurance we had didnt carry a MO rider. I went thru seminars, countless dr. appts, etc.. I considered being a self-pay until I saw how much and OMG there's no way I could afford to fork out that kind of money. My husband is a wonderful man!! He resigned from his job back in January after many years with company  to take a job making about the same amount but he thought the insurance would be better so I could have my surgery well after starting the position he found out they no longer offered insurance to employees.. HAHA  you got to be kidding me!! So he starting putting his resume out all over the USA in hopes for a job that would give me what I needed (WLS). He landed a job in April that is perfect for me not him.. He's making ALOT more than he was before but he honestly works his butt off for the pay. Anyways we now have BCBS and they say they cover the WLS and all I have to do is complete a couple requirements and its a done deal. I have completed them and hope to have the surgery but I'm scared they will come back with a denial or want more from me!! I love my husband so much for taking this job to give me what I want but this job sucks!! He is never home he works 12 hr shifts and then sometimes doesnt even get off work then and to make things worse he works 7 days straight before getting just 2 days off.. I really want to have this surgery and start living my life as a Loser and hopefully we can start looking for him another job were he can be happy and we can have more family time together... WISH ME LUCK

I got woke up this morning to the phone ringing. I looked at the number but didnt recognize it so I rolled back over. About 10 minutes later I found myself still laying there wondering WHAT IF that was Dr. Fox office and they had a cancellation and want me to come in today.. How great that would be! So I got up and called the number back and sure enough it was Dr. Fox's office but my excitement turned to disappointment quickly. They were calling to reschedule my appt. due to surgeries the Dr. had to perform that day. I asked was there anything available this week and of course NOT. So anyways my appt is scheduled for the 9th which is only 2 extra days but I was counting down till the 7th. Oh well.. I guess it could be worse

I contacted my insurance company today just out of curiousity to find out what exactly my coverage requires for the WLS. Well I spoke with a very nice woman that walked me thru the website page by page to get exactly the info I needed. I found out that the ONLY requirements I need for WLS is a BMI of over 40 or BMI of 35 with medical issues. Well I am definately over BMI 40. I had previously scheduled an appt. with the Sleep Center to see about getting a Sleep Apnea test done but now that isnt needed.. I am so excited and cant wait I have 8 days till I see surgeon wish me luck!!
