5/4/05 I've had my appointment with the counselor at BWI, had my appointment with the nutritionist, had my first appointment with the surgeon, had my psych evaluation, and now just waiting on reports from the psychiciatrist to be sent to the surgeon so that we can file everything with the insurance to get approval.

This process is so tedious. I just want to get it done! I never dreamed it would take so long to get everything put together just to send to the insurance company. I had my first appointment to get the ball rolling on April 8, so we've been at this almost a month already. I've been told it could take longer than two weeks to get my letter from psych Dr.

5/13/05 Still waiting for the psych eval...Called them this week, told that it could be 15-30 days until I get my letter. I'm trying really hard to be patient and trust God for His timing.

5/16/05 Called the psychiatrist's office they told me that they letter still wasn't back, would call me back when they had time to go through everything. Of course I didn't hear from them.

5/17/05 Called the psychiatrist's office, still no letter. I asked them to leave a message for the Dr. to call me. Twenty minutes later the office lady called...my letter has already been sent to my surgeon! Called my surgeon's office, they are submitting all my paperwork to the insurance company today! I'm praying for a fast approval and surgery date in June!

5/18/05 Oh my gosh, I called the insurance company and found out that I'm approved! They approved it yesterday, the same day that they received it! As soon as we get the official letter, I'll get a date! I'll keep you posted.

5/21/05 Received my approval letter in the mail today!

5/23/05 Faxed the letter to my surgeon's office. I'm waiting for them to call me to talk about a date. I'm planning for surgery to happen on June 30. This is much later than I wanted, and I'm sure I could get an earlier date...but I have work obligations until the 17th and then I have a wedding I have to attend in St. Louis on the 25th...so I'll plan the surgery for the 30th. I want to get it on the calender so I can really start to plan and get things organized for the big date!

5/25/05 I just got a call from the nurse at my surgeon's office. We discussed scheduling and we set the date for my surgery for June 20th! I'm really excited. Today I ordered some more protein powder from bariatriceating.com. That site has some great products and prices! My friend Jill had her surgery today, she is doing well, having some pain but ok. I have lots of preparation to do, but I'm excited!!!! Yippee!!!

5/31/05 We had a great Memorial Day weekend. One of my daughters came to visit from St. Louis and we had a really fun time. Just 21 days until my surgery. My husband is worried, he always worries about things that he can't control. I keep reasuring him to have faith. God is in control of the situation and I trust Him. I go tomorrow for my pre-op and registration at the hospital. My pre-op visit with the surgeon is next Wednesday. I've been getting things I need for the first two weeks after surgery. I need to buy a few more things and then I'll be stocked up and ready to go!

4/05 Hey everyone, seems like most of our stories start...I've been fat all my life...well mine starts like that too! I was an overweight child, teenager and adult. I've had brief periods in my life where I was smaller, never below a size 14 and of course larger...largest was about a size 24-26. Right now I'm wearing a tight size 18W and have gained about 25 lbs over the last two years. I do not want to go back to my biggest weight...it's time to do something drastic to fix this problem!

Several people I know have had WLS so I decided to begin to research it. Finally I called Dr. Facundus' office to find out how to start the process...here we go!
