FINALLY...IT HAPPENED TO ME....

Nov 13, 2006

Just wanted you ALL to know I FINALLY MET MY FIRST GOAL... I AM UNDER 200 LBS!!!  I hit 199 today, after THREE weeks of not losing ANYTHING AT ALL, I have finally lost those 3 pounds I needed to lose to get me under 200 lbs!  Im putting some pix of me in my pj's in my pic place.  I want you to know that those pants used to be tight on me!  I cant believe Im under 200 lbs.  I officially weigh less than my mom and my sister and hopefully soon, I will weigh less than my husband!  Thank you to all my friends who have been so supportive of me on this journey, without you I would have never made it!

S I G H....

Nov 04, 2006

Well, still no change in weight.  I am forcing myself to workout EVERY day now and will start situps, I don't understand how I'm NOT losing weight but IM SHRINKING.  WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?

Becca (my 10 year old) and I had a girls day out today, went to the AV Mall, had lunch and shopped.  I DESPERATELY needed new jeans and she got a few outfits as well... WELL GUESS WHAT???  I was in a size 22 before surgery.. TODAY, I put on AND ZIPPED UP a size 16 jeans!  yep, SIZE SIXTEEN!!  From a 22 to a 16 in three months!  I cant believe it, I BOUGHT THREE PAIR...LOL  I was starting to look mannish in my other jeans that were too big!!  I should ask Liz if she knows anybody that can use some of my jeans, they are in good condition... no GREAT condition and are Venezia jeans and FREE!... so we will see.

I also found a GREAT way to get my protein in,  CHICKEN!  Grilled Chicken Salad... Im still forcefeeding myself protein shakes, and drinking my water.  Had to quit adding the crystal light cuz it made it too sweet... and Ive been drinking iced tea w/ splenda in it!

I really hope I lost like 10 pounds this month...  Im not judging it by day, but by month!  Maybe my scale is just dumb, LOL  WHO KNOWS!

NO CHANGE

Nov 02, 2006

Just wanted to take a minute and share with you... I have had no weight change since my 2 week check up.  OKAY, maybe ONE pound, but thats it!  :(  I am starting to worry.  I have still been shrinking, another 4 inches off my butt since 10/21.

I started a new job this past Monday, I have GREAT will power, as they all sit and snack on candy and chips and soda and what not, I sip my water, or iced tea (depending on time of day).  I did break down and buy some mixed nuts... good source of protein and I chew them really well before I swallow.  I have yogurt some days and am going to take in an apple and some peanut butter tomorrow, just incase I get hungry.  I am still having a hard time with protein, but continue to try new things all the time.  I have fallen in love with the Burger King grilled chicken salad, I eat the chicken first, then if I have any room, i eat lettuce, YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!!!!!!

Im not hungry much, but when I do get hungry, I crave the junk my coworkers eat, but I hold myself back and look the other way and reminde myself that I had this surgery so I could be thin and beautiful and the only way I was going to do it was to obey my pouch when it says NO...LOL

I had my first REAL lesson in dumping last week... With all the trouble getting in protein, I got this craving for milk..  I DRANK 8OZ IN 30 MINUTES... just so you know, NOT A GOOD IDEA!  If you want to know what it was like, send me a message, I will tell you.  too gross to post!

On a sweeter note, MY GIRLFRIEND KITTY HAD HER SURGERY, YOU GO GIRL!!!  and BARBARA IS HAVING HERS ON 11/13... WOOHOO BARB, I will try to make it to the hospital to see her!  HMMM, wont i be six weeks by then?  HMMMM  LOL  Anywho, thanks for reading along, hope all of you are well!

Trying my HARDEST

Oct 27, 2006

I am working so hard to get my protein in!  Today I made a protein shake, I tried so hard to drink it.  I stirred it, sipped it, stirred it sipped it, out of 8oz i only got in 4... but I had two sticks of string cheese, a half a bowl of clam chowder, a cup of watermelon balls and 4 oz of milk to drink and I got in 36 grams of protein.  Thats A LOT more than I've BEEN getting in!  I made some protein pudding and will try it before bedtime... I really hope i like it!  My PROFECT vials arrived today, I ordered one vial of every flavor, put the ones that sounded yummy to me in the frig to get cold and im so nervous about trying them!  I cant wait until I can have things like chicken salad, MY FAVE MEAL IN THE WORLD... chicken thigh, cheese, lettuce... SOON, a couple weeks.  The more I can add to my diet of real food, the more protein I will be able to get in!  Until then I have decided to try to get my protein in, but I will DEFINATELY get my waters in!  FOR SURE!  Thanks for reading along!

THE WORST 24 HOURS EVER

Oct 26, 2006

Yesterday morning was awesome, had a great postop appointment, got permission to eat (certain things) and go to work and work out and get in my jacuzzi... I got home, did house work, had some clam chowder (AAAAHHHH  YUMMM) and decided as soon as my hubby got home I would go to Curves, come home and GET IN MY HOT TUB!!!!  Well, I fell asleep, was late getting dinner on and the 3 year old woke up crying.  My husband, trying to console him, sits on the edge of the coffee table and rocks him... 10 minutes later, (as Im starting their dinner and getting ready to go work out....) I hear a S M A S H!!!!  Yep, my husband and 3 year old fell through the tempered glass coffee table.  My son was crying, all I could see was blood everywhere and glass, LOTS of glass... well my son was unharmed!  (Just scared) but my husband was NOT so lucky.  In the middle of dinner, had to shut things down, put the kids in the car, drive 30 minutes to the base where my friend is to watch my kids, and then leave from there to drive another 45 minutes to Lancaster where the NEAREST emergency medical treatment facility is!  I drove 90mph w/ my flashers on!  (that part was cool, people ACTUALLY got out of my way!)  anyway, we spent six hours in the hospital... I HAD NO FOOD, just water from the fountain.  Granted, THIS WAS the same hospital I had my surgery in, I asked nurse after nurse after nurse if there was any way I could get a carton of the optisource, because I was feeling faint and really needed protein... I was told NO, and most of them acted like I didnt know what i was talking about!  I WISH I had Liz's phone with me to find out what I could do.. so I went six hours in the hospital w/out ANY food.. (plus the three hours before that, driving and jumping through hoops)  Needless to say after we left the hospital, we stopped and got my husband something to eat at Jack in the Box and I got something too, ice water and two egg rolls.  I ate 3/4 of an egg roll and REALLY enjoyed it, SLOWLY but YUMMY.  NOW THIS IS NOT ON MY APPROVED DIET, and Dr. Yadegar if you are reading this IM SORRY, but I HAD to have something and there was NO taco bell around!  Today was just horribly as bad, on 3.5 hours of sleep I had errands to run, I HAD to go to GNC and get my protein powder, and the daycare center and clinic, my son was HORRIBLE, and Im just hoping that from here on out my day gets better.  I had clam chowder for lunch, then stored the rest in miniature rubbermaid containers for lunch tomorrow too and maybe dinner tonight.  I got my groceries (string cheese!!! and watermelon!) and am waiting for my lunch to settle and im so making a protein shake, and i dont care if i have to choke it down, IM DRINKING the dang thing!  I know when I start getting my protein in, I will start losing more weight... so... Ive rambled on enough, time to go do laundry and drink a tiny bit of unsweet iced tea!  HOPE YOU ARE WELL!

I wish YOU ALL had MY doctor!!!!

Oct 25, 2006

First let me start by saying, MY DOC IS AWESOME.  I had my 2 week post op today, I am officially 20 pounds down.  (it still dont sound real to me).  Doc Yadegar told me today he has been following my OH.com page... that made me feel SO good.  He knows what is going on before my appointments!  LOL  How awesome is that?  Secondly, I have to tell you WHY he is so awesome, (aside from the obvious)... He was reading my labs from my pre-op blood draw, he noticed my bilirubin levels were raised slightly, so he decided to keep a watch on it.  During my hospital stay, the numbers remained high and though this wasnt alarming to him, he decided to investigate it!  MIND YOU, this is totally seperate from why he is treating me... well Today at my 2 week post op he told me that he talked to a gastroenterologist regarding his findings and together they have determined that I have a condition called "Gilberts Disease" and he has ordered a few more labs to make sure it wasnt something else!  I think that is SO awesome, NO military doctor has ever asked about my bilirubin levels and never have they gone out of their way like doc Yadegar did.  He is so personal, he treats you like YOU are his only patient and I AM SO GLAD HE IS MY DOCTOR!  I just wanted to brag!  Other than that I am doing GREAT, still working on the protein issue, but have been cleared to go to CURVES, I can get in my jacuzzi again and I can go to work!  Did I tell you I can finally see the bones in my feet?  LMAO  IM GONNA BE SKINNY IN 2007!!!

IS THIS NORMAL?????

Oct 21, 2006

SSOOOOO, LOL... I think Im lactose intolerant.  I get crampy and gassy from drinking my protein shakes... DANGIT... and I LOVE MILK... I LOVE my sugar free ICE CREAM, what am i going to do?  Is surgical lactose intolerance permanent?  Please say NO...LOL

On another note, my hubby is sitting on the couch sucking down a bag of DORITOS... SOOOO... hehehe, I grab one and I LICKED ALL THE FLAVOR OFF, DAMN THAT WAS GOOD STUFF!  LMAO  Okay, OH YEAH, IM DOWN TWO MORE POUNDS!  Now ringing in at 206, AND I have NEW measurements (see the bottom of "my story), long story short, lost 15.5 INCHES so far!  *go me go me go me go me*  HAHAHA

Hope youare all well, *MUAH*

Stalled Weight Loss ALREADY???

Oct 20, 2006

Got on the scale this morning... 208, same as yesterday.  Are we supposed to be stalling this early in the game?  I mean its notlike I'm overeating...LOL  HELLO I CANT EAT.  Is my body just recovering and getting ready to pick back up again?  I know many of you are going to tell me to stay away from my scale, but I LOVE MY SCALE...

On another note, I did try a few licks of egg salad yesterday, licked the spoon (its okay cuz nobody in my house will eat it but me so I dont have to worry about spreading germs...LOL)  I cant wait til next week when I can have some refried beans or puree'd chilli!

OH, I got a job!  I was hired on the base as a clinic appointment assistant, they pay VERY well!  LOL

Well thats it for me today, hope you all are well!

Another Newly Post-op Day

Oct 15, 2006

I got on the scale this morning!.... 216... Can you believe it?  Granted I went into the hospital weighing 221, I gained 17 pounds in water weight (those wonderful iv's...) and weighed 238 on Wednesday when I came home from the hospital.  Today, just 6 days later I have lost 22 pounds!  I can't wait to see how much I will weigh when I see the doc on the 25th...

I fixed my family a breakfast made for a king, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, coffee... THE WORKS!  It's my moms last day here before she flies home to NC and I wanted to show her my appreciation.  I wanted a bit of everything, this liquid diet is sooo hard!  Lastnight I resorted to sticking my finger in a pot of chili to taste it.. I am a food addict, but luckily for me I can satisfy my desire for things by tasting them!
Well that's all from me today,!
