I am home  :)  I am tolerating the liquid diet very well and will switch to a full liquid diet tomorrow.  I am sore because I also had my gallbladder removed and I had some difficulties in getting rid of fluids.  I just hope my recovery goes well and quickly.  :)

I'm leaving for the hospital...  I can't believe this day is finally here.  :)

Tomorrow is the big day!  I will leave for the hospital in 14 hours...  Wow!  I can't believe it's time  :)

I'm going to enjoy my time off and spending it with my three girls and my grandson  :)  xoxoxoxo  :)

Surgery day is fast approaching!  65 hours to go and counting...  My bag is already packed and I'd go right now if I could.  I received a call yesterday that my O.R. time has been changed, so I don't have to be at the hospital until 9 AM.  I was told it is because the Dr. wants to also remove my gallbladder as I have gallstones and the surgery will take a little longer than originally anticipated.  I didn't know that statistics state that 30% of all WLS patients develop gallstones which is why they are prescribed a medication to help prevent them from developing.  Since I already have gallstones, it is better that I have my gallbladder removed.  :(~

My daughters have off from school the day I have surgery, so they are all going to the hospital with me.  I told them to bring crossword puzzles and books to keep them busy as it will be a long, boring day for them.  My eldest daughter may stay with me as a family member is permitted to stay over night in the room with me (the room has two beds but they only put one patient in the room for privacy).  Since she is a CNA/GNA, I think it's a good idea.  Especially since I also need her to drive me home  :)

I am off from work from 9/29/08 through 11/3/08 (if I need that long)...  It's going to be hard to go back to the office after having off for so long.  :)

I need to take pics before I go to the hospital...  I want to continue my journal so that I can see how far I've come.  It's been a long road but well worth the trip.  I can't wait until I get to see the new me!  Inside I will be the same, but outside, I am hoping to be a healthier me.  :)

Pre-surgical testing is over and I now have just over a week until surgery!  I can't wait!  I have to be at the hospital by 5:30 AM...  That means I need to leave by 4 AM to make it in time.  It's okay though, because I probably wouldn't be able to sleep anyway.  :)

I have my surgery date!  September 30, 2008!  :)

I'm approved!  I received the letter in the mail today that my insurance company has approved my surgery!  Now all I have to do is clear my work calendar and I am ready to go!

My final appointment is fast approaching!  It is scheduled for 8/6/08. After that, the paperwork will be submitted with the insurance company and I should have a surgery date right after the approval (which will take about two weeks)...  I can't wait!!

I got my stimulus check!  I'm now half way through having my portion of money for my WLS (to cover the part that my insurance doesn't cover)!  I have completed all of my testing and now it looks as if this is actually becoming a reality!  Some people went shopping with theirs and some people invested theirs... I am using mine to invest in a healthier me!  :)
