My story.... well, here it goes. I've been overweight (compared to my peers) my whole life. Graduated HS in 1993 maybe a size 11/13, which was much larger than friends, but I was happy!
1994 was a big year for me, I married my sweetheart and we both started at the companies we are still out. After a few years of US time, we started trying to get pregnant.
5 years off birth control, I finally got pregnant out of the blue (had just lost 30 lbs on diet pills and was partying all the time, not eating or taking care of myself!)....... he's now 6 years old. When he turned 2, we decided to try again and pursued nearly 4 years of fertility treatments. On from outpatient procedures to check for blockages, tests, pills, shots, weekly or more frequently dr. visits.... we finally decided it was getting the best of us and took a break.
This is when I decided I would STOP trying to get pregnant and instead work on ME, I'll get skinny, then in a few years have another child of my body works properly.
I started down the path for RNY, but due to an upcoming change at work, and other things, the timeline for insurance cooperation, etc wasn't right for me. Dr. Davidson had the VSG for the same price as lapband... so I get the results and benefit of RNY for the price of lap band.... Plus the tax write off! So here I am!
