"PERSISTANCE" IS THE KEY WORD
I called the hospital again, and asked to be connected to the nurse's station. Because I was not a "family" member, the receptionist first said that she could not do that, but when I explained that I'd been trying to make contact since last THURSDAY, she must have felt sorry for me, so did patch me through to the nurse's station. Unfortunately, all the nurses were busy, but I did speak with an aide. She put me on hold, and apparently went to see what was going on in Debra's room. The nurse was with her and she could not transfer my call into the room because Debra's phone was turned off !! I pushed the issue, explaining how worried we all were, and asked if there was a possibility that she was getting discharged today (since most of us go home after only 2-3 days, and it's been 5 for Debra). She did say :: YES--SHE IS DISCHARGED !! So, I suppose this is good news and hopefully we'll hear from her soon. Please, everyone---keep Debra in your thoughts and prayers. She didn't have much family support, so I know she'll appreciate all the good wishes..............Thanks.........Marilyn
