My daughter and I went on a trip to Oregon to see our friend David. And while I was there I met this really great gentleman named Jack. He spent time with me and really gave me the strength to know that when the time was right for me to go back to work I would get a job. I am looking forward to getting the chance to take my husband James to Portland to meet Jack and feel the strength and presence I did when I was with him. Thanks to David and Jack's son Bill I was able to meet this gentleman and find my faith and strength again.After getting back to the hotel room I was going to take a nap before we tried to figure out what we were doing for dinner. My daughter is 13 and she has to remind me that she does require food and not just a protein shake. We decided we would have a nap then go for a swim and dinner afterwards but instead my cell phone rang. The call was a job offer with the Department of Corrections. I start July 1st. I am really thrilled. Needless to say I didn't take a nap but we went out for dinner which my daughter had a burger and I had some grilled chicken to celebrate.
As of today I am down a total of 92 pounds since I started this in December 2008. This makes me very happy. Since surgery I am down 49 pounds (with 43 pounds before surgery).
