Hi Doris! Just came across your post to Gaynelle on the January Board and wanted to "Welcome" you! Congratulations on getting your surgery date right away, I had to go thru the 6 month diet requirement for BC/BS and was approved right before Thanksgiving, but elected to wait until January for surgery, so guess we'll be January Buddies. Yea a New Year and a New Us!!!! Aren't you just so excited about all of this? There's a million emotions that comes w/this whole process, but know that it is a decision that we won't regret. Sounds like you're a lot like me, putting everyone else first. So now to take care of us. (which will only enable us to better help our families/ and have fun too!) Just want you to know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers for your upcoming surgery. May you feel God's peace and love surround you during this time. Praying that you have an uneventful surgery and the speediest of recoveries. If I don't get to stop by again soon, Hope that you have a Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year! Take care & God Bless~~~Lisa

Please bear with me. I'm new on the computer and don't know much about how it works. Anyway a little about myself. I started my wls journey in October 2004. I have several friends who have it done. My Dr. is DR. Douglas Krahn at Saint Bernadines Hospital in San Bernardino, California. I have been attending his support group for over a year,so I have heard probably ever story imaginable. I do have every faith in Dr. Krahn. I really believe he is the best there is, he also has one of the best nursing and follow up groups I have heard of. About me, I have struggled with my weight since I was about 25 I was married, worked, had a home and wanted to have a family. I became very stressed after having trouble conceiving and started over eating. That started my up and down weight life. I went on ever diet imaginable and would lose a little and then put all I had lost and a couple more pounds on. My life became a weight lose yoyo. Well here I am my daughter is grown with kids of her own, my son just turned 18 and is enlisted in the Army. I am now at my highest weight ever, I'm 4'10" 197 til last month, I'm now 190 Dr. put me on a post op diet, nothing but meat and vegies. but hey I lost 7 lbs. in a month. My surgery is scheduled for Jan. 25. I'm so anxious, can't wait to start my new life. I figured since kids are grown it's time for me to take of myself. I have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholestrol, high tryglisterides, arthrites, asthma and now sleep apnea. My insurance oked me right away. So now just 59 days to go. will be counting down very excitedly. Well thats about all for now will keep in touch and wish everyone a blessed holiday season, By for now.
