Laura, if you are able to take more time off, I would recommend you do it. I took my full 8 weeks of paid medical leave, and I was glad I did, because it took 8 weeks before I felt 100%. The first few weeks you are very exhausted from the recovery from surgery and the lack of food and water as you re-learn how to eat. Some people vomit a lot as they add solid foods. I didn't want to be doing that in front of everyone I work with. A lot of people are able to resume their job before this, but I figured, I deserved the time off, and I really learned my body signals before going back to my job. Good luck to you no matter what you do.

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery. We both wish you all the luck in the world with your recovery too. We BOTH had open rny's in 2001. Mine (Doug, aka: OLD RODEO CLOWN PANTS) was in Oct and I have lost 215 lbs. My sweet wife, Nancy, had her surgery in June and she has lost 110 lbs. We both invite you to read our profiles and hope that maybe you can get some inspiration from them, but NO PROMISES!!!! Just remember that YOU WILL SUCCEED!!!!! Hi Laura, Wishing you a speedy and healthly recovery in May. I have the same insurance as you do. When the old insurance said no I was going to die. When Dr. Brody's office call and said June 10th I was so excited. Oh, by the way, do you want to change dates? ha ha ha :o) I'm trying to keep busy because this waiting for June is a killer.

He Laura, thanks so much! I pray it doesn't take THAT long! lol I used to live in Ohio (Kent). I just moved back to Chicago in 1997. Perhaps when we're BOTH on the other side I can stop down for a visit (which I've been trying to do for the last 4 or 5 years) and check out the new you! Congrats on your surgery date!!!!
