I have been heavy as long as I can remember. My entire family is overweight. I have tried every diet out there without lasting results.

I do not have a problem with binge eating or eating too many sweets, my problem really lies with regular food. I love good food, no fast food or packaged food tempts me. I love good home cooked foods like roasted chicken and vegetables, I also love Thai food and currries.

When I realized how important food had become in my life I was already over 200 pounds and misrable. I really feel like this is my only hope to lose weight and keep it off.

I went to a seminar in January and decided that this was my best option. It only took me two weeks to get all the visits done and get approved by my insurance. I think I was a little offended that everyone was so quick to say that, yes I needed the surgery. I guess I was wanting for someone to say no you look great just the way you are and don't need to lose any weight. Well that did not happen.

I had my surgery on 05-09-07 at 7:30 am. I came home today and I am in a lot of pain. My weight on Wed 5-9-07, my surgery date was 265. Today when I got home I was at 260. I am curious to see where this is going to take me. Other than the pain I do not feel any different than I did before. I am on clear liquids until tomorrow, I keep thinking how nice a small peice of chicken breast or fish would taste!
