2 Years Post-Op

Jul 08, 2010

I came on OH the other day intent on updating everyone on my progress but alas I failed but I guess it worked out for the best because here I am on my 2 year surgiversary and I am finally updating my blog. These last 2 years have been a crazy whirlwind amusement park ride. There have been some Up's and numerous Down's. More so of the down's just here in the last 9 month's or so. I have dated some complete LOSER's and got really caught up in the drug scene. But I persevered and here I am standing tall. About a month ago I met the most Amazing man at my apartment pool, of all places! Let's just say that he is a little bit of wonderful. We are officially dating and life couldn't get much better than it currently is. I got really caught up in Mid-May in a lot of drugs and heavy drugs at that. I was never one of those people who would succumb to peer pressure but I was really depressed with how my life was playing out that at the time it was my only way of not having to deal with reality. Luckily it only lasted for a month or so before I had an emotional breakdown and saw the error of my ways. I feel really good about where I am at in life right now and I am super excited about the future! I took about a 3 month hiatus from my 165 mile bike ride in early May and I am ready to start riding again. I plan on doing the Hotter n' Hell in August in Wichita Falls which I think is about  100 miles so it's time to get back in the saddle again...literally! My weight has been keeping steady at about 155 but I fluctuate between 151 and 159. Anywhere in between there is perfect for me. I can pretty much eat ANYTHING I want and when I was doing "drugs" I found my sweet tooth. Occasionally, I forget that I had the surgery and find myself inhaling food but thanks to the surgery I get sick when that happens so it helps keep me accountable. I do NOT like the feeling when food gets stuck! I feel so blessed to be on this weight loss surgery journey. The next step in the process will be to get a tummy tuck and then my journey will be complete but ongoing. If you are a newbie or pre-weight loss surgery please don't hesitate to send me a message if you have any questions. I love talking about my journey! I am very proud of how far I have come!
Peace and love,
Em
