I started my clear liquid diet today and it's been harder than I thought it would be this time.  I weighed myself at home today and it said 296 pounds - wow!!!  Then I measured my body parts so I can see the inches fade away too.....
Arms - 19 inches
Leg (mid-upper) - 34
Leg (upper) - 36
Butt - 56
Belly button area - 62
Waist -  50
Breasts - 56

1So tonight was the last night for surgery stuff forever....I'm breaking up with a lot of food I like. :(  Not sure I'm enjoying this, but thinner will definitely feel a lot better than I feel now.  I went to my pre-op apt. last Thurs. and I'm almost 300 lbs. which is the MOST I've ever weighed and even more than the last time I had surgery. 

I start my two days of clear liquids tomorrow.  Surgery is at noon on Tuesday at Dekalb Medical Center.   I have to take antibiotic pills at work on Monday - 2 pills every hour for 4 hours then 1 pill every hour for 4 hours.  Plus 3 tablespoons of milk of magnesia by noon - all of my afternoon meetings will be conducted in the restroom!!  Ugh, I still have so much to finish up at work to be off about 4 weeks.   

I was released by my primary care and the pulmonologist on Wed., Aug. 10th.  On Wed., Aug. 17th I went to Dr. Steinberg's office for my final pre-op. meeting.  I signed all of the surgery papers and got all of my pre-op. info.  My revision from lapband to gastric bypass is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 13th.  Now I'm trying to read up on all of the post gastric bypass diets.   My weight on my primary care's scales was 283 and Dr. Steinberg's scales said 290 - yikes!  I was 283 when I had my lapband surgery 4 1/2 years ago - the most I've EVER weighed.

My insurance has finally approved my lapband revision to gastric bypass!!!!  I still have to have my regular dr. release me and go to the pulmologist before I can go back to the surgeon and schedule my surgery.  So the journey continues.  My throat is still so swollen and I can eat EVERYTHING!!!!

My esophagus is dialating again almost to the point he would not 'fill' me, but he did go ahead and put .2 in.  But within 24 hours I could eat a lot again.  So frustrating.  I wish I could ge the revision approved soon.  But then I must change so much!!

This was my first fill in the Imaging Center (opposed to the hospital Radiology.  He was able to add  .06.   I'm still going to the psych, finished my dietician apt..  I'm also getting notes from past dietician, knee dr., and my current podiatrist for a hopefull approval for gastric.  The psych. had me read 'Mindless Eating' and it was a great book.  The one book that's made me think a lot more about how to control food.

I had a fill on Nov. 22nd too and forgot to post what it was and now I can't remember it.  :(  I'll try to get the info. from my doctor soon. 

I went to Dr. S on Friday, Jan. 28th.  I'm at 260 lbs. on their scales (even after losing 3.6 with weight watchers this week).  We talked about re-submitting for the revision gastric sleeve or bypass again.  He sent it into Cigna last year and it was denied then the appeal was denied too.  So now I have BCBS Anthem again (what I had when I had the surgery) so he is going to re-submit.  But we are self funded so it will go through the same people, Intracorp, again to approve so I know it would be denied again.  So he wants a name to talk to someone. They are going to pay a lot for me to continue with fills or revise!!!

I had another fill on Monday, Jan. 31st and he added 1.6.  He pulled it all out to make sure there's a lot in there and there was more than 3 cc's which is what his needle held. 

I went back into the radiology dept. (instead of a office apt.) and Dr. S put 2.2 cc's back in my band!!! I've gained over 13 pounds, per Weight Watchers, in the last month so I desperately needed it. 

I went to have a possible fill today, but ended up with an unfill.  He took 1 cc out.  I could have used a little fill, but my acid reflux is really bad and he could see that.  I also feel like I have a knot in my throat.  It hurts a lot.  I'm worried about my esophagus too.  It didn't look like it was too swollen, but he said we need to give the esophagus a rest.  I'm supposed to go back to his office in about 6 weeks and he said he would add more in the office at that time if needed.

I had another appointment with Dr. Steinberg today.  I'm losing again.  I was. 242.2 on his scales today so I'm down about 5 pounds from my last visit with him over 2 months ago.  I've lost weight in weight watchers almost every time the last two months....finally going in the right direction again.

I'm having really bad acid reflux and he recommended Nexium since I can only take Prevacid 2 weeks at a time.  It burns so bad at times and he says that's a side-effect.  I've thrown up dried blood twice which is a concern, but he wasn't very concerned yet.  He said to let him know if it stays the same or gets worse.  I'm going to take Nexium for 1 month then go in for a fill (or maybe an unfill) in one month.
