Hello Eric - WOW, your special day is finally here, <b>Congratulations!!</b> I'm so excited for you and I know you have got to be a basket of emotions. I remember the week before my surgery it was like I was on a natural high, almost euphoric. I couldn't believe I was finally getting that "second" chance I'd always prayed for, to lose the weight and LIVE life again. I wish you all the success and happiness that comes with being healthier and thinner. Sure there are a few challenges along the way, but no more then sitting out life - overweight and on the sidelines. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for a successful and uneventful surgery. Eric: Just wanted to thank you for posting to my page, and letting me know about the local support group. I will definitely consider it, and will let my son know, too. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery - and yes, you are right, we are in good hands. Those surgeons at UPMC are fantastic - they have definitely got it all together! I think this is the main reason I'm not overly nervous about my son's surgery with Dr. Schauer. I believe he and his colleagues are among the very elite in WLS. Please let me know how it all goes for you!
