I am 35 years old. I started this journey in 2005. I had had it with being big. I have fought the insurance game, being denied 3 times and finally after an appeal w/a none bias 3rd party expert, my insurance agreed to pay. I had RNY done on 7/20/07. I am married and a mother of 4. I have one granddaughter and a grandson that is expected in March of 2008. I have so much to be grateful for, and so many reasons that I wanted to lose the weight . Most was for my own self. I have always struggled with my weight. I was the BIG kid from the time I was about 10. In Jr. High and then High School I had always wanted to be able to swap clothes with my friends, like all the other girls did, but I couldn't. In sixth grade I wore a womens size 12 and it only got bigger as I got older, and things were different then, the COOL clothes were not made in plus sizes. After alot of research, I found Dr. Nicholson's office. It was like God, sent me an angel. I had my doubts. But, now that I have experienced the surgery and my weight is going down I know that I made the right and ONLY choice for me. I would do it over ....no questions asked. WLS, has been the light at the end of my tunnel. I have hope and excitement that words can not explain. I have started my journey, and each day await the possibilities that are ahead of me now. For the first time in many years my future is BRIGHT!!
