After jumping through all the hoops and hurdles for my surgery with Dr. Akkary, he left the hospital the week after my surgery was approved by the insurance.  The approval was the easy part - finding a surgeon is harder!  Dr. Costa was taking many of Dr. Akkary's patients, but I had to get insurance approval.  They wouldn't give a contract to the hospital, so the hospital wanted full cost up front. Can't do that!  Therefore, I had to find a surgeon in-network - which means a three hour drive down to Charleston for Dr. Nease.  So now I'm scheduled for my third Bariatric Surgery Introduction Seminar in a year, because, of course, new surgeon means new hoops to jump through.  Such is life.  Originally we were shooting for a late June surgery.  Then it was August 9th.  Now it's mid-September.

Forward to late October - Dr. Akkary is set up at a hospital about an hour away, and my surgery date is November 8th, woohoo!  I've just started my 2 week liquid diet, and I'm very excited.
