Today I am 3 weeks out and am doing great!  I am down 22 pounds and off my blood pressure and cholesterol meds.  I have been testing out new foods and have tolerated them all well.  I am very excited that I can start back onto my weight training program today!  

So I am now just over two weeks post op and couldn't be happier!  I have had no problems at all, I have not had to vomit, had the foamies or gotten anything stuck.  Sounds like a perfect two weeks!   I saw my nut on Wednesday and she released me to an "open" diet, the only thing I am not allowed is raw fruit and veggies.  My wonderful hubby has fixed me baked cod, potatoes, whole wheat spaghetti with natual sauce (no sugar), green beans and all have tasted wonderful!  My hubby and my son are now prospering from my surgery.  The hubby has baggy pants and his rings are beginning to fall off, ( his wedding ring and the respect ring I bought him a couple years ago), and my sweet teenager has lost 10 pounds and asked me the other day if I noticed that since there is no sugar in our house that his acne has cleared up!  
Already, this early out, I would tell anyone contemplating surgery, to go for it!  Even if you have side effects, the benefits are worth it. I am no longer on cholesterol meds, I am off both my high blood pressure meds, and have cut my lunesta in half already!

So today is Monday, I had surgery Thursday, so I guess I am doing way better than I expected to.  I have been doing everything I was told; walking, sipping, measuring all my pureed foods, taking my pain meds, and resting.  I think the hardest for me right now is that I don't feel like I just had major surgery and because of that, it is really hard to listen to my body when I feel like napping or even more, to just close my eyes and enjoy the quiet.  Today I would have to say that I would definately do this again, in a minute.  I have such a wonderful surgeon and great support team that I know I will be successful.

Wow I can hardly believe I am writing this! I am scheduled for surgery next week, my surgeon is amazing!  I have been waiting for what feels like forever on the insurance game and now things are really moving.  I am glad it is so quick because I know I won't have time to drive myself crazy worrying! I am so thankful for the chance to have this surgery and am dedicated to using this tool to better myself and increase my health...being thin isn't such a bad thing either
