Six Weeks

Sep 02, 2008

Ok,  so its been 6 or 7 weeks...I lost track, since my surgery. I have been having some problems. I was starting to feel really faint and pass out a lot, in the last couple weeks. Then last week I had something really strange happen. My whole body went numb and I was having trouble breathing. The paramedics got called, and they said I was hyperventalating and my heart was skipping beats. Which was the scariest moment of my life. Then 2 days later I had to go to the Dr. I told him everything that has been going on with the faintness and numbness, and the whole works. He did some blood work, and I found out today that it was my potassium level that was low and causing all these problems. Now I am on a potassium pill everyday and I have to have more blood work done on friday to see if that fixed my problem. So now that I know what is going on with my body I can hopefully control it. I will say that I went to my surgeon for my one month check-up and told him all these things, he said to go to my regular dr. Which honestly rather pissed me off, but anyhow. I really want to start working out, but with all this crap going on with my energy and fainting I started to wonder what the hell I decided to do.... feeling like poop is no fun!!!!!

One month!

Aug 13, 2008

Well today is exactly one month after my surgery. I am down 34 lbs, and feeling pretty good. I start pureed meat today. I am pretty excited about it. My weight loss has recently pretty much stopped. I am thinking that it is probably pretty normal. Not quite sure though. I am so ready to start exercising again. I cannot wait. I have to wait until my 1st check-up to get clearance from my surgeon. I think that my appointment is on the 21st of this month. Not too much longer to wait. I was having some issues with the protein I was drinking. Now I know I am not getting enough in daily, but i really so no other options. I am lactose intolerant so the whey based protein started making me sick to my stomach in the third week, The dietian suggested Genisoy but it makes me gag no matter what I mix it with. I feel I am stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. I know what I am supposed to be doing. I just cant. Hopefully when I go to the dr's office they will suggest something else. Well that is all for now, I will let you all know what happens at the Dr.'s!

I made it!!!!!!

I am home and doing awesome. The surgery went well with no complications. Only issue I am having is since the day of surgery I have gained 12lbs. I have no idea what the hell is going on?? I am sorta concerned about it. My family keeps telling me its ok and everything but I really am not sure about it. I know I am very swollen right now, and my ankles are gianormous. I was on a diruetic for my blood pressure, but they took me off of it now I am sooo swollen. I have been walking all the time... which helps with the gas thank god!!!! LOL. I don't even need my pain meds, which is awesome. Well if anyone has any ideas about the swelling let me know. I will update in a few days. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Tomorrow is the big day!!!

Jul 15, 2008

So tomorrow is the big day, I am pretty much terrified. Atleast I have been all day, until I logged onto this website... thank god. I have had just about no sleep this past week. I am really excited, but also really frickin scared. I am sure I am not the first nor the last to feel that way. I am trying to keep myself occupied to keep my mind of the surgery. By the way since being on liquids all day, I believe I have figured out why the majority of americans are obese... every other commercial on tv is about food. It really was pissing me off. I assume these damn commercials are just beginning to mess with my mind. Most likely be griping about those some other blog. Anyways enough rambling from me. I guess I will catch you all on the flip side.  Extra prayers are always good too.
