2008 in review

Looking back on 2008, I have lost a lot of weight!  I owe a huge thanks to Dr. Jones.  I started out at 551 lbs.  I am down to 292.  I realize 292 is still a big number but that is 259 lbs lost!  So when I think of it that way it is not too shabby. :)  16.5 lbs to go to have lost half of my starting weight.  I am frantic for summer so I can swim again.  I want to be more active.

This year has been so wonderful.  I have gotton my health back.  I am experiancing some issues with low blood sugar suddenly.  (about 2 months now) I was diabetic before and am on a low carb diet since surgery.  I am walking for hours at Walmart, several times a week.  My pocket book is getting skinny too!  LOL!  I started out ridding in a cart and having to park in handicapped parking.  I stood in line for 45 minutes and could still breathe.  I have a ruptured disk in my back so it does still hurt but not as bad.  In my group of friends and family I went from being the biggest to one of the smallest.  It is such an amazing thansformation in health.

I am still in a size 18 pants and shirts.  The lower stomache has shrunk back nicely.  I do have swelling in my right leg from where I had Lymphadema before the weight loss.  So the 16 pants might fit my waist if I could get them to look right and go over that leg.  I have color bones for the first time in my life! 

I need skin removal on the upper stomache badly.  I have about 6 inches of extra skin.  They say wait about 2 years before skin removal.  I am thinking maybe 50 more lbs or so.  The weight loss has slowed down, but that is to be expected.

I wish my mom, brother and aunt could have the surgery.  My mom is not healthy enough to have it.  She is almost 400 lbs and 5"11.  She is no longer walking and I believe if she lost the weight she might be able to come off the O2 and walk again,  She has been my biggest supporter.  She had brought me countless outfits and keep saying how I look like her when she was in her 30's.  She is so proud!  My brother has also been very supportive.  He is 6"5 and 385.  He is healthy and was amazed about my loss.  He is interested in it but is in the smae boat as my Aunt.  Insurance does not cover it.  My aunts is thinking of moving to IN to get on where I work so she can have it.  My husband has been so supportive also but he always was.  He loved me at my biggest and thought I was beautiful and still does.  That is why I married him. :)  LOL!
