I had successful RNY gastric bypass surgery at Centennial Medical Center, in Nashville TN, on 07/14/08. I have been successful in losing weight since my surgery. I have found attending the support group after care program to be very beneficial. I am going to the local YMCA for exercise, it has been very helpful in helping me reach my goal weight. My weight lose surgery journey has seen its up and down moments. It has overall been a very successful experience. I still have a ways to go to get down to my ideal weight. When I achieve that goal, the hard time really begins, maintaining my weight for the rest of my life. I was told that weight lose surgery is just a tool, and I have found that to be true. It takes allot of discipline and will power to make a life long change.
